New - The things that really annoy you

There have been some crazy spikes this year. Range Rovers became almost uninsurable with premiums regularly quoted at £20k + from
the few providers remaining who haven’t pulled out altogether.

Residual values subsequently tanked and JLR have been forced to re-introduce an in-house insurance scheme in an attempt to shore them up.

Range Rover owners won’t get much sympathy but it’s panic stations at JLR and quite an interesting and still unravelling story.

The way they are justifying these rises is repair costs because of supply chain issues for parts. That means longer hire car costs.

I’m currently car parts delivery, quite a lot of them have made in Ukraine on the boxes, they’ve been having a few issues the last 18 months or so, lot of Land Rover parts are made in Slovakia, and then there’s the semi conductor supply issues since Covid, all of this helps with pushing insurance costs up

I'm with direct line, my insurance was £214 last year, my renewal was 368. Did a quote from LV and it was 338. Got another quote from Saga☹️ 246, so will probably go with that after I've been through the details.

Apple fitness alerts. Get to fuck.

Photographs in biography/auto biographys.
Why put them in the middle of chapters? Put them at the end of the chapter they pertain to.

January. I despise it, I’m on holiday and I’m still pissed off.

Got home very late last night to find the post had been shoved under the windscreen wiper again. Evidently been there for hours in the rain with everything turned to soggy tissue paper.

Let it go the first time as a one-off, but was on the blower to the sorting office this morning. The very helpful lady was pretty aghast and couldn’t believe the stupidity, and was contacting the person in charge straight away. There is a claims procedure for damaged items apparently but I felt not really necessary in this instance.

Been told the PiC might be in touch but even if not, am assured it will be dealt with. Quite happy with that outcome but honestly, under the wiper, that’s a belter.

FFS. Someone has hacked my Skybet account, deleted my bank card, added a new one and withdrawn £185.

There was £60 in my balance and they cashed out a season long acca for £40. No idea where the other £85 came from. I checked my bank account and nothing is missing or pending going out luckily.

They suspended my account and are investigating. Got to get back in touch tomorrow now.

🙁

The annoying thing is there's no way to make your account more secure. No 2FA and the password has to be a 6 number PIN.

I fucked Skybet off after they banned me from any of their free bets and casino bonuses. I wouldn't have minded if like with Hills I'd been taking the piss and won well over £100 in free money from free spins over a period of 12 months (and given them nothing back) but I never won anything out of them and they still blocked me.

Hopefully you'll get your money back at the very least.

All bookmakers will stop you taking their best offers after a certain amount of time - sometimes for no reason at all.
I won 90% of the William Hill epic odds last year. They were giving away money. They haven’t banned me - they’ve just stopped doing the great epic odds every week (For example - Man City vs Luton. City to have over one shot on goal. Evens. Max £10 bid).

Ordered an EV before Christmas, with the car I get a Charger installed at home.
Being trying to get permission to install of wolves council for weeks now (council house), and no one seems to know who organises this. Asked the local Councillor the question, who replied asking for address and contact details 3 weeks ago, still no further.

Do you need permission? Usually your installer will get permission from the DNO and after that it’s no different than an additional RCD being installed.

As the property is rented, ohme want something from landlord

In that case write to planning. My ex sister in law ran that department but she is at the Highways Agency now.

Emailed planning in December, they responding the same day, saying I don't need permission of themselves, but need the ok from wolverhampton Homes (Landord). No one seems to know which department can issue this.
Starting to piss me totally off and I'm getting tempted to cancel the car, and get another diesel.

Hi mate I actually work for the Council/WH and have just asked a Tenancy Manager the question for you. Here is the reply:

EVC permission requests are on hold at the moment as Property Services are reviewing the process. However, in general there is a link on our website to request permission for alterations and improvements to our properties
And here is the link:

Have they still got a walk in centre in town opposite the old job centre, or did that only deal with council tax? I honestly cant remember but maybe pitching up in person and asking for a permission might work?
