Olympiacos FC (A) 12/03/20 - Following Nuno, Drinking The Ouzo

Lets be honest, pretty much everyone has been poor at best. Think our mentality of sitting back against teams that we can dominate hinders us quite a lot of the time and especially against 10 men.

Only thing that's got me anyway worked up so far is Olympiacos not surprisingly sneaking a few fans into the game, these games need to be postponed, for the benefit of the fans and the players.

He has an attempted end product though, no one else has even made an attempt. If we want to look at a player having a very bad game (and run of form) we should look at Raúl.

Always good for a goal out the blue though and we know that.

Can't understand some people, Traore has put the ball in the box four times and has been the only player to have a shot.
We could possibly sacrifice a defender (Vinagre ideally) and bring Neto or Podence on.

No real chances against and plenty of chance to push on.

Once again a ridiculous thread, have a fucking word with yourselves.

Do we get goals for crosses?

No good crossing the ball if it's rubbish every time. Crosses in the main are one of the poorest sources of goals and Traore is far better cutting the ball back on the deck.

Too passive. Just far too passive in every department.

Was starting to get an uneasy feeling how often they were getting behind Vinagre sending off might put a stop to their adventurous side.

I'd sub Traore and go 3-5-2, Neto or Podence just behind the front two and get Vinagre and Doc doing their thing, but generally, they all need to liven up a bit.

Crap to watch but a solid enough half. Totally controlled the flow of the game (I.e. Stopped Olympiakos doing anything).

Had an opportunity for a break and ended up with Somedo being sent off.

I'd imagine we will push 5-10 yards up the pitch and play with a bit more energy in the second half, you know, like we do in most tricky games.

It has been pretty poor though. Lots of misplaced passes and a few players like Raul and Moutinho look a mile off it. We have killed the game now though which is a positive but we now have to get on the front foot and pretty much try and put the tie out of reach for them against 10 men.

we've controlled the flow of the game?

Have we given up any opportunities, not really. Do we have the chance to push on, absolutely. Have we been not very good, yes.

It is possible for all three to be correct. Id personally say your reaction was the hugest overreaction.

A bit of context is required for the situation the players have found themselves in. They wouldn't have known if they were coming or going in the last few days and are playing in an empty stadium when they are used to playing in front of 30k to 50k full stadiums back home. The performance is a little flat but perfectly understandable given the circumstances.

There is a huge opportunity to kill the tie tonight so we must grab it

There is a need to have a go now - not enough to concede, though there is less chance of that now.

Put them under pressure and pin them back in their half & we can get something from this - just make this easier for the return leg.

You reckon?

This might be a worst half of the season. It’s been terrible.

How about Norwich away where we should have been 4-0 down or Southampton away where we actually were 2-0 down. Or the second half against Chelsea or Everton.

I wouldn't mind but this is every single week, it's pathetic.

Ok well wasn't expecting that one...good chance for us to get a great result though
