Olympiacos FC (A) 12/03/20 - Following Nuno, Drinking The Ouzo

marinakis was with the Olympiacos team and staff at Arsenal, not a full 14 days ago, so frankly Olympiacos have to postpone surely. Those with the virus are known to not show for 14 days or maybe more, and as i understand things if you have been in contact with a known carrier at whatever point, you must quarantine yourself for 14 days, symptoms or not, Game has to be postponed.

I'm sure they can be tested and potentially cleared before the game is postponed. If not, then yes, it has to be postponed.

Hmmm. I understand the sentiment, but plenty of fans would still be watching and being entertained on TV. And as we've discussed, if it's postponed there may not be a competition left for us to play in.

Kenny i see your point, but IF and it's a big if one of our players or staff going to Greece catches the virus, we won't be playing league games for a while let alone Europa.

Nuno

"If we have to go (to Olympiakos) we will. But we don't agree - we're not happy to go.
I don't agree with playing football behind closed doors. The main origin of football is to entertain. If the fans cannot attend, what's the point? This is bigger than football.
Behind closed doors doesn't make sense. We're pretending to live a normal life when things aren't normal.
Why not stop (football)? Does it make sense to play a game behind closed doors? Are we sending the right message to say we're OK to have contact and fans can't?"
not for the first time, I agree with Nuno.

Anyone who watched inter's last match will agree with Nuno.
I mean it could be to our advantage but id rather win it the old fashioned way.

Just seen a tweet with matches affected by Coronavirus this week, from the MOTD account and they have Frankfurt v Basel as being postponed.

You dont see my point Pavvy...

I do see your point , but in this case with the chairman of the opposition club having been confirmed, surely Olympiacos players and staff have to go through 14 days quarantine, before anyone can go near them, apart from wolves players and staff. I would guess that goes for Arsenal too

It wasnt my point you were replying to though

This will now be in the hands of UEFA.They have to make a call before our players fly out tomorrow though

Unless they are tested and cleared. We had one bloke from work who went to Italy and didn’t declare it. Developed a cough yesterday and immediately was sent home. Got himself tested this morning and was given the all clear so he is allowed to return tomorrow. Had he returned a positive we would have been shut down and all into self isolation and testing as well.

Guess we will wait for he test results on the olympiacos players and staff.
On a totally different plane, where would things stand, if for example Raul, with a a pregnant lady at home said "fuck it, no way am I going" now that would set the cat firmly amongst the pidgeons.

If Raul or anyone felt like that then I am 100% sure Nuno and the club would support them. As Nuno has already said, this is bigger than football.

If Raul said he didn't want to go, I wouldn't have a problem at all with that, and I don't think any normal person would.

So, Twitter would be up in arms.

I think he would be totally justified to do so, but if twitter got it, then i would be really happy , ha ha ha

Can't believe that UEFA will call the game off. Hopefully Wolves can stay focused given that they don't want to go, and not be too knackered for WHU on Sunday.

It's only off if a player or staff member tests positive.

Dont worry about Wolves focus or ability to handle the travel as they have been pretty much on top of that all season

Whoever he is he sounds like an irresponsible jackass and should catch shit about it from now until the end of time
