It won't take 82 points to make the playoffs. That is a points total 10% higher than has ever been needed.

Also Brentford's last two home games against awful, 9 man Cardiff and doomed Millwall have garnered just one, fortunate point. They're on a run of one win in five. I suppose nothing is impossible but it seems fanciful to me to think they're suddenly going to turn it round and pick up 16 points from seven games. Similarly Derby down for five wins out of seven but they've only won two of the last ten?

If we get 79 points then we won't miss out.

Same as last year's "we are going to miss out with 95 points" panic. There is a reason why statistically these records are records.

We always seem to have to get record hauls to do something. Staying up in the PL and points to get relegated, to name two.

Derby (2 points in 18) are unlikely to suddenly turn that to 16 from 21

We didn't need a record last year, despite utter panic at various times through the season. Yes we got a record, but a bog standard promotion season would have got us up. 76 or 77 will be enough, and that in itself is a record.

They played pretty well and with their two strikers back their form could change. Similar to when we got Dicko back.

They weren't records though? West Ham went down with 42 points in 2002/3 and we didn't even finish third bottom in 2012/13 so we aren't the holders of that title. Besides which Millwall went down with 52 points in 1995/6.

Last six games:-

Middlesbrough - 9 points
Norwich - 11 points
Derby - 2 points
Ipswich - 7 points
Brentford - 8 points
Wolves - 11 points

Derby could easily do that. Out of the ones above us we are competing with, they are the one that can put together a stupid run

Losing form at this stage of the season is what most clubs dread. Derby have gone from promotion favourites to wondering if they will even make the play offs. It could take some turning around.

They need Martin and Eustace fit. Then they can start trying for 100 point a season form.
