I expect AJ to win.

Must be the first time in close to a decade (maybe more?) that Andy Murray isn't on the list.

I don't know who any of the last three on there are.

I see your 3 and raise it to 6, plus the first one too.

Only 3 that I am looking at & thinking 'who?'

Hamilton the other possible contender

Shrubsole is the bowler who had a 6 for in the World Cup Final

Froome should win it, but there's too much 'speculation' about Team Sky and is seen as being Kenyan. People rightly or wrongly don't like Hamilton, personally I think F1 has become quite niche to those who only like the sport rather than the mass appeal it had 20/30 years ago.

AJ will win it.

Odd that Mark Selby isn't on there. Won the UK Championship and the Worlds since SPOTY was last held. BBC events as well.

Also got the record amount of prize money in a year and equalled Hendry/Ding's record for most ranking events won in a season.

Good job it isn't based on personality as Hamilton's a right twat.

Adam Peaty has broken every single record and is the fastest swimmer ever at the 50 and 100m owning the fastest 10 times set. He's scarily good at his discipline, the Usain Bolt of his sport.

AJ will win it with hopefully Froome and Peaty top 3.

Peaty won't come that high as it's a minority sport from the TV schedule

Endurance cycling is a seriously terrible spectator sport if you have no proper understanding of what's going on. So for any cyclist to win they need to be a bit extrovert, like Wiggins. Froome is not that man.

I would say the sport is no worse than cricket to understand and miles easier than something like rugby or American football. Watching the Tour and other events roll through the mountains and countryside is awesome and if you like your history then all 3 grand tours are stunning to watch.

It's the fact that unless you're engaged in it, or understand the tactics, essentially nothing seemingly happens for entire hours at a time. I am well aware there is more to it than that :D but it is not a sport that is ever going to capture mass attention. Vast swathes of France are fucking boring to look at as well.

Cricket is more engrained in the national psyche, or at least was. Drifting away now that everything is behind the paywall but that's another argument.

Rugby is the only one of those I can watch for any period of time, I've no real understanding of any of them but at least with Rugby there's fairly solid action to keep you enthused even without knowing exactly what's happening.

Johnathan Rae won the World Superbikes. Not sure who the last two are.

Can't stand SPOTY, but if you're going to have unknown minority sport types, I'm going to pretend to be outraged that sprint kayaker Liam Heath, current European and World Champion and holder of world record over 200m (after winning gold in Rio) isn't included.

Hmm, it would seem I have been out-gifed

SPOTY used to be one of my favourite television events of the year but I think that its gone downhill a bit of late. I pray that you don't get every Tottenham fan voting for Kane and he ends up with the title like Giggs did a few years back.

1.Joshua
2.Froome
3.Peaty

How Konta got on the list when she's barely won a game since Wimbledon is beyond me.
