The CHRISTMAS Thread

Ends midnight, 5 January.
My missus for the for the 46 years we've been together has always insisted we don't take the decs down till 6th Jan, personally I've always wanted to take them down 2nd.
This year she was talking about taking them down 27th Dec which shocked me, they're coming down tomorrow, feels weird.

Our sruff came down yesterday.

Got to cling onto Christmas. Allowed to eat loads then...

Looks like the Bunting bunting will come down before the Christmas decorations.

There's a BBC news story about a woman who has her decorations & tree up already.
Went to buy a birthday card last weekend & the card shop was 50% Xmas cards.
Stepdaughter tells me b&m & home bargains are full of Xmas stuff.
Aldi starting to have Xmas stuff appear.
Despite it being September. So many events yet to occur this year.

Went in Home Bargains or B&M (can`t remember) last week, one side of one aisle was full of Xmas stuff, the other side was full of Halloween stuff. Couldn`t see any bonfire night stuff.

Local garden centre today. I’ve still got mates on their summer holidays abroad, ffs!

I can’t believe y’all have beaten the US to it! We’re still in Halloween mode. 🎃

@Alan as in ya'll do Halloween better. Wasn't sure if that was clear :D

And if course I am basing that solely on movies and Reddit

Halloween is American isn't it. Was never really a thing when I was a kid, seems a recent development over here. Also any adults "celebrating" it need putting on some kind of a register.

Interested to hear what all these other massive events (so many!) before Christmas are...

My kids love Halloween and they don't understand why I look at them like they've just told me that Steve Bull was overrated.

It's bullshit, I hate autumn. Halloween is shit, bonfire night is worse. I have no interest in trying to dress up like I did at primary school and having lived near Moss Side for 3 years, I'm not a huge fan of amateur explosives either.

Roll on summer.
