So the American owners of PL clubs are potentially looking to sell their clubs.

Raises the question, who will buy them?

What a lovely trip for fans like Southampton, all the way to Glasgow and back.

No real different to Newcastle. Easy on a plane (which is also cheaper than trains, and probably cheaper than car when you factor everything in).

Barcelona are officially staying in the Super League.

I'm hardly surprised - with the debts they've accrued whilst wasting a ton of money, they probably can't afford the exit fees. Or the milk bill.

Real v Barca every week then...

How the fuck is that going to work? Less likely that the Spanish authorities go for the nuclear option.

There's probably something in the contracts that says if a club pulls out, then they have to pay all the others an amount; but if the league is disbanded, then they don't have to pay anything.

Smarter Americans.

The growth of MLS has clued in a lot of business people over here as to how football works globally. There are definitely going to be interested parties on this side of the pond. And, theoretically, at least, they're much better prepared for the culture of the sport than any of the current owners are/were when they bought in.

So what happens next season with CL? They resigned from the ECA (not sure if this affects competing) and surely after saying now they are staying in thr ESL they won't be in Europe next season?

FSG were meant to be the smarter Americans after Hicks and Gillett!

I don't think Americans can ever truly get it. We don't grow up with the highs and lows of relegation and promotion. It is a very definitively different world on your side of the Atlantic.

With Celtic and Rangers the subject rears its head every 5 years or so.
Firstly about 10 teams each season have the worry of relegation so aren’t going to vote for 2 less teams and giving up 2 places to the old firm.
Secondly this has a ripple effect through out the league means you need to find 4 extra spots in the football league which would mean them reducing their numbers to accommodate.
Hypocrisy again people have moaned about how the ESL would screw over football but don’t mind screwing over Scottish football and 4 FL sides.

Big Sam talking about greed in the game after Leicester/Albion.

Also Big Sam...

They won't sell unless somebody makes a stupid offer.
Instead they will play a longer game - the battle has been won but not the war. And arguably even the battle was lost - the new CL qualifications are a step towards what they want.

Looks like Wembley is getting another Euro game. Dublin and Bilbao will not be hosting any games and Munich looks like it will get its games
