Where have I been “not nice”? Alan has not presented a single alternative opinion to the original statement. I can’t think of one sport that America has imported and not made worse by excessive commercialisation and/or bastardisation of the rules.
Baseball. It’s an English game taken to the states.

The fact you think it’s roinders shows the ignorance and rank stupidity of your posts.

Baseball finds its roots it many different old English games which were imported to America by immigrants but it is generally considered that rounders is a significant forefather of the modern game of Baseball. I did not claim that rounders was baseball - my original post was that Americans take sports and ruin them. As most professional sports have their origins in amateur sports and are therefore descended from them it is a valid point to make when considering how sport has evolved in the US.

I could be wrong but I think the only truly original sport developed in the US is basketball (invented by a Canadian) which subsequently went onto become a global sport. This shows that the Americans can invent an original game successfully and, perhaps because they have a sense of ownership over it, the format has largely remained the same (save for the excessive commercialisation)

There are possibly equally valid opposing arguments but nobody is making them. So far i have been called rude, ignorant and stupid but I have to play nice? Being lectured by you on stupidity and ignorance is a keeper though.

You've basically asked Alan to defend what you perceive to be the ruining of every sport that Americans have touched. Maybe it's me, but I find this narrative you're pushing a bit confrontational.

I just see the remark TSB made about Americans ruining all sports as not a nice thing to see, especially if you're American.

Your prerogative, I just find the pearl clutching and 'let's all be nice' lecturing pretty selective.

I presume you'll be there to police all other instances of 'not nice-ness' on the forum?

There's absolutely no nuance is there?

As I said, I found something which I thought needed to be called out (exactly like you're doing now) so I did.

If I see something in the future which I think needs to be called out, I will, and suprisingly it won't be every single thing.

Are you going to be the regulator to determine whether it's appropriate to call people out or not?

You are.

Your post was a glib remark and you thought it would be funny.

Guess you watch too much Mrs Brown's Boys.
I am not taking lessons from you about forum etiquette so don’t waste your time.

There was some glibness to the remark but still a relevant point of view, particularly given the American influence on the European Super League in the last week. It was not a remark about American people, but the American influence which given their economic and cultural strength which has existed for many decades is considerable.

This place has got so bloody touchy over the slightest thing in the last few months. Perhaps people should get out more. I have always been happy to debate, argue and exchange insults on here. I continue to be happy to do so.

More media claiming the big 6 shouldn’t be punished because it punishes fans and players who fought owners.
Ok fair enough but that exact same thing happens when clubs go into administration but fans, players, staff etc suffer.
Henry winter a Liverpool fan by the way the latest to come out with this.
The it’s the owner not the club who did this isn’t going to wash. Firstly Chelsea and Man City in particular have happily been associated with their owners for years and wouldn’t have achieved what they had if it wasn’t for them but suddenly want be detached from them.
