My best mate had been having issues with passing out, he went to the hospital and his heart rate was low 40s and they admitted him for bradycardia and conducted all manner of tests on him for 5 days. Which suggests from a medical point of view it's something they'd worry about. That's the only knowledge I have on the subject.

Your broad brush generalisation is what was wrong, there are thousands of people with low RHRs that are neither athletes nor have anything wrong with them, suggesting otherwise is dangerous.

If your education didn't teach you that, then yes, in that aspect it was wasted.
Thanks for letting me know.

I'll make sure I ask you next time as your generalisation is clearly better than mine.

Should I ask you about everything just in case as your knowledge is based on......???

My resting heart rate is in the high 70s. I am unfit though.

Surely there is a world of difference between doing tons of exercise and having a low RHR and no other symptoms compared to having a much lower than average RHR with no plausible explanation.

If mine was in the 40s now I'd be concerned because I don't do much exercise at all.

I have symptoms so @Johnny75 was right, only a bit of dizziness at times. Had all the tests and unless I want steroids not a huge amount I can do other than build muscle.

Anyway, any football news out there?

Could be any number of reasons, starting with the type of exercise you're doing.

Bear's RHR is within normal range for an adult male. You would expect power athletes to be in this range too.

I would expect endurance athletes to have a lower RHR as a rule but in the 30's is Bradycardia range and can mean the heart is doing more work than it needs to. That can be addressed using other tests.

The heart doing more work than it needs to isn't good but it can be rectified.

It's based on having numerous tests as I was worried about it (due to the perceived knowledge of others) Only to be told by doctors and specialists that actually "you're fit and healthy and the low RHR is an indication of that".

Yeah mine was the same although was high 40's was at a medical and way they were acting was worried about waking up next day.
Went to the doctor and he said your fine.
About 5 years later out with my brother when he told me how he went for a medical and had the same issue, our dad who was also with us as we discussed it, said "oh yeah your mother is the same!"

He's always saying that the true meaning of Christmas is vengeance...

Is this the football news thread?
Yes, some breaking actual football news coming across the wires: Eddie Howe has bravely flagged up that the “integrity of the football league is under threat”. Fair play Eddie! Hold on, just getting clarification on this story… oh.
