Their offense wasn't up to much last year with Brady, but Cam can't throw after his shoulder surgery and their only real WR Edelman has missed most the season. Their best defensive players like Hightower and Chung opted out of the season, whilst Gilmore has spent a fair amount of it banged up.

Have a sneaky feeling that if Pederson stays they'll chuck a 2 and a 3/4 at Philly and try to fix Wentz

There has to be a reason why Belichick prefers Newton over Stidham, but it has not worked for either QB this season. There are several 'good' QBs who might be looking for a new start next season (Wentz, Mariota, Foles/Trubisky, Bridgewater, Dalton, Stafford, etc); but as the Pats have not got the best out of Cam, a draft pick seems most likely.
