The NFL Thread

If Barkley is really good at golf or confident enough to go out and wipe the floor with him, then I would forgive him for that. Some sort of petty competitive agenda.

It sure would be a shame if Barkley’s driver introduced itself to Donald’s face…

Massive over simplification here. White guys went, black guys didn't. Half of the starting 22 were there from what I can make out. All the Oline, DeJean, Blankenship, Goedart, Barkley.

No Hurts, D Smith, Brown, BG, Slay, Carter, N Smith, Mitchell, CJGJ, Baun amongst others.

I'm surprised Trump didn't pull it, but explains why the golf happened the previous day.

Derek Carr has retired. You don't get too many inter division trades, but that has to put Cousins in play doesn't it, unless ten Falcons get greedy?

He got injured in the off-season, supposedly seriously, is that why? Otherwise something of a surprise.

Yeah, he needs a shoulder op, that would have ruled him out for the season. Keeping the $10m roster bonus, but waiving the $30m contract he'd have earned if he'd just gone on IR. Makes a lot of the talking heads look bad who were heavily inferring he was making the injury up to just get out

There’s been reporting that he’d had the injury for a while and didn’t disclose it to New Orleans before signing his restructured contract a few months ago. At that point his situation there became untenable and I don’t know any team that would sign an aging QB with a middling-to-decent record, and a major injury to his throwing shoulder, which he lied about to his previous team.

We’d call that bad optics.

Eagles v Cowboys is the opening game. I know they look for a glamour tie, but that's very early for an interdisional game that traditionally goes a long way to deciding who wins it. I was expecting the Rams

I'm assuming they were consulted over it but the Vikings will be the first away team to play back to back games abroad. Dublin one week, London the next. Stuffs the Browns who are the second game.

There's decent potential in some of those UK games, although with the QB involved (Stafford aside) they could all be absolute dumpster fires by the time week four and five rolls around.

If you can find it you should check out the LA Chargers video of their schedule release. I'm not on Twatter/X so can't share it, just saw it on Two Bills Drive forum.

I like Purdy a lot but that's a huge amount of guaranteed money.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Brock when Shanahan gets fired (he's shit as an HC IMO).

Seems there's a lot of teams scared of the alternative and overpaying. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, Cowboys and now 49ers. I get why, but you are paying for competence rather than greatness. That said their schedule this year should make them go deep

For a play that's run relatively few times the whole tush push saga has got even more bizarre. Jason Kelce has turned up at the owners meeting, invited by Philly to vouch for the safety of the play and deny a fabricated story from the Bills co-owner that it's the reason he retired.

The Bills co-owner? Who's that?

He's not the co-owner. He is THE owner. It's why I asked, the Bills are owned by the Pegula family so I was puzzled.
Certainly not going to argue with you on the structure of the Bills😆. The tweet I read said co-owner, but that was obviously incorrect. The weird fabrication is presumably true though, Kelce said it himself without naming the organisation

@Dire Wolf

Don’t look now, but Jozy Altidore is a minority owner of Buffalo.

The Pegulas do have the only controlling stake, tho.
