The NFL Thread

Aaron fucking Rodgers just threw a block on a running play. A good one, too.

Mike Tomlin is the greatest coach in NFL history.

Trouble in H-town.
O-line even worse than last year, new OC has brought nothing, Stroud off form, no run offence.
0-3 and first loss in Jacksonville in 8 years.
First bit absolutely has to be fixed; without at least decent blocking none of the rest of that list even can be fixed.

Then they punt and give the ball back to the Vikings when they needed half a yard to ice the game.

Second bit was tongue in cheek, tho I do have a lot of time for Tomlin.
Doesn't cost them in the end as the Vikings end up taking a delay of game to pitch them even further behind the sticks.

Ultra conservative as is Tomlins want most of the time though against a decent QB that probably costs them.

He’s an oddity insofar as he maintains a lot of old school ideas but somehow hasn’t been made a dinosaur. One of those ideas being “trust your defense”.

In the modern NFL that is a very, very tall ask.

It's tough to criticise a coach who's never had a losing record in 19 seasons.

Not good news if you're a Giants fan (or Brian Daboll) Malik Nabers had likely torn his ACL. Then on top of that Russell Wilson is in as Jaxson Dart has limped off.

This morning the Ravens were 3.5 point favourites to beat the Texans next weekend. Lamar Jackson is likely going to miss the game so now the Texans are favourites, even though we have only managed one quarter of decent play in four games - and that was against the Titans.

Anyway, it is amazing to think that one of these teams will be 1-4 by Sunday evening.

The Ravens D is absolutely terrible, now shipped 30 or more points in four of their first five games.
