The R.I.P. Thread

I do think she is overshadowed by Alan Davies and his pure desperation to be funny, it's painful at times but agree she does come across as quite abrupt and her humour is never more than, makes you nod rather than laugh out loud.

Properly gutted for this one but Geoffrey Palmer best known for butterflies and as time goes by dies aged 93,

Fairly secret army and 2 bond films as well, did watch his reggae Perrin stuff earlier

Yeah he was good, one of my favs of his was an obscure sit com called Fairly secret Army

Not sure that RIP is an appropriate phrase or sentiment, but Peter Sutcliffe has died, aged 74 years.

Considering I was only 7 when he was nicked it's amazing how much I remember pre the arrest. Shows how big a story it was and the impact of only having 3 tv channels, no consoles, phones etc. All the family watched the news

Yep, the world was just as shit then, you just lived in blissful ignorance. it always strikes me that, such as his victims, Carl Bridgewater, Jamie Bulger et al if they hadn't been killed they probably would have gone on to lead boring and uneventful lives, but at least they would have had lives, it's so sad.

When I worked as a bus driver in mid Wales, Dolgelleau market square was shut to everybody one afternoon, police everywhere, apparently they were moving one of Jamie Bulgers killers out of a flat in the square after he'd been outed, police just said they were moving a male under escort for his own safety.
It wasn't the chubby killer, was the other one that's been in and out of prison a lot.
made a change from the square being shut due to Theresa May wanting lunch in the pub, or shopping at the walking shop while on holiday in snowdonia

That one Bulger killer went back inside for a hard drive full of noncey pics, which isn't at all surprising.

Yea that's the one that was supposedly in Dolgelleau

Sutcliffe gone which is good, but won't assuage the families of those he killed.

Not going to refer to him under his 'brand name' as that gives him a presence he doesn't deserve. Alongside the likes of Brady, Sutcliffe, West & Shipman (there are probably more) who deserve no consideration.

Sometimes the existence of hell is a good reason to hope heaven exists.

Des O'connor , singer, tv presenter, general all round entertainer and butt of Eric Morecambes jokes aged 88

Grecian 2000 have put out a profits warning. Probably only Tarby left of the great tv entertainers of my youth.
