The R.I.P. Thread

Tarra mate, you made me laugh so many times. Wherever you go next i hope they've got tin hats. 😇

Shit.

Goodbye hero.

At least he gets to hang out with Randy Rhoads again, I suppose...

I loved their WW2 AFV construction kits. So much better than the standard Airfix, Aurora, Revell stuff on offer at the time.

Not anyone that anyone will know on here, but an old work colleague died recently whom i was very fond of died recently. Someone i'd been in the trenches with over the years and got to know really well, always asked about my family and one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I hadn't spoken to him for a while and the news knocked me about more than i was expecting. He'd only just retired too

Hulk Hogan, 71.

Reported heart attack.

With him and Ozzy in the last few days that’s two enormously famous figures from my childhood years gone. Definitely reaching that age now where it’s going to start happening more and more often 😢

This week can just do one...

2 absolute legends of there respective field gone.

Thought I'd have a walk over to Brindley Place to pay my respects to Ozzy during my lunch break earlier. I think he'd have approved of the bizarre juxtaposition of a horde of Sabbath fans paying their respects at the bridge mixed in with smartly dressed BCU students graduating next door in the Symphony Hall with their families.

Sad thing is, two out of the three left won’t get anywhere near that size of tribute when they die,
10,000 signatures on a petition to rename Birmingham airport Ozzy osbourne international airport, there’s more important people come out of Brum than him.

Jasper Carrot International Airport it is then.

I doubt a wife beating racist like Hulk Hogan would find himself at the hypothetical pearly gates.

Dreadful human being.
In recent years he has apologised for his past misgivings, found the lord, repented & tried to right his wrongs. There are a lot of stories of Hulk paying for peoples surgeries and helping save lives. Ric Flair also has stated that Hulk was at his bedside when he was at deaths door. He also was in contact with Jim Ross who has had 2 bouts of Cancer himself.

Yes he said & did some really stupid stuff but his legacy to pop culture & the Wrestling business cannot be understated. Without Vince Mcmahon & Hulk Hogan WWE is not the monster it is today.

RIP Hulkster

Also as a morbid fact... with Hulks passing. The first Wrestlemania main event where all participants are still alive is Wrestlemania 12. Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels.
