What a good re-signing he's turned out to be!FIFY![]()
Should but how often does that really happen though? You should have your business done by GD1 any signings afterwards should be to cover gaps noticed early on
How many teams have this? It just isn’t that easy unfortunately. I don’t think we go about our recruitment in the right way, we always seem short somewhere but negotiations in football are so complex and take a lot longer than many would imagine. You should have your business done by GD1 any signings afterwards should be to cover gaps noticed early on
I’ll forgive the odd signings but we’ll go into GD1 probably 2-3 short of the minimum required.Should but how often does that really happen though?
This summer maybe Liverpool will do it. Not scanned other clubs but will be surprised if more than 5 are sat there content with what they have and only need to do bits of business to tidy the squad up.
No denying we are way off in terms of our squad and what Vitor wants just that the perfect way of doing a transfer window is not the norm.

We will be short, no doubt about that and many different arguments on how it's happened.I’ll forgive the odd signings but we’ll go into GD1 probably 2-3 short of the minimum required.
Not so much comparing clubs or making excuses. If we are comparing with other clubs, how many of them sold their two best players before the Club World Cup and got near 100million in?
There is only really Brentford that I look at and think they are have had their squad gutted more than us?
It's all well and good making excuses for the club and comparing, but when our manager is pissed off (and voiced that a number of weeks ago) then clearly we have got it wrong.
100%. I'm reserving my anger for the end of the window, it's better for my health. I genuinely find it stressful reading all the angry responses on here every day. I'm genuinely not trying to stifle 'debate' as I don't think any of us disagree about the state of the club (save, as Kenny says, perhaps for Squeak). Not so much comparing clubs or making excuses.
I think everyone on here, bar Squeak, shares the same concerns but just have different ways to express it or explain it.
I really hope we don’t waste any more time on this. The summarized situation is this.
Napoli has been negotiating with him for weeks but has never reached an agreement with Sevilla.
Wolverhampton comes in and reaches an agreement with Sevilla: the boy listens, negotiates, but waits for Napoli.
Now the boy has reiterated to Sevilla that he prefers Napoli. He has put everything else on hold. Let’s see if the clubs will reach an agreement; it’s always a matter of 2/3 million euros.
I don't think many on here (1 maybe 2) are giving the club any benefit of doubt, it's just some posters are worn out with angry stuff when they have no control over what is happening.I think all the posts giving the club the benefit of the doubt would be fine and reasonable if we hadn't seen this same shit play out in multiple windows and with multiple managers.
At some point, 'wait until the end of August' just won't cut it, and I'd say we're about there.
We're not just talking about a window where we needed some tweaks, we're talking about one following a season where we looked odds on for relegation until VP came in. Since then we've also lost several of our best/most influential players.
There was a lot of work to do with our poor squad foundations and stripped first XI and we've done very little of it
Isn’t the same situation playing out in reverse with Fabio. If I’m Sevilla I want the extra money that we are wanting from Dortmund. If he’s our choice I’m cool with it as long as there’s back up plans….,,I really hope we don’t waste any more time on this.
Is there any way, during future windows, for us to have one thread that is actually dedicated to transfer links/rumours/activity and a different thread for all the anger and frustration?
Everyone's trigger point is different I guess. I'm certainly not going to try and 'police' anyone's posts. Each to their own, but it strikes me as odd how so many posters prefer to police Jinky or discuss how angry various posts are or what the tone is on the thread rather than engage with our transfer situation and the clubs responsibility in that.
FWIW I actually thought discussion this morning was quite reserved and based around a detailed look at what our actual options are as it stands?![]()
If we were still working under the Hobbs set up I would be confident in saying we would have 2 maybe even 3 more signings and our conversations would be on how shit the new players are and how annoying it was to miss out on a standard Championship defender because Burnley offered £500k more.
