Wolves 0-4 Man City (16/08/2025) - Verdict Thread

Hardly more than you are, just starting from not disliking Mario.

I think you dismissing MR'S behaviour as ok because of GON tallies with the what I see as ridiculous idea that captaincy is not important.

You don't seem to think any of those psychological aspects of leadership or management are important, yet also think GON's management gave him free reign to behave like a dick. It's a contradiction i can't understand.
No, I would say that everyone else is ignoring the importance of Mario’s psychological fitness whilst going through that awful winless run, listening to GO slag Jørgen and Cunha publicly, etc etc.

The psychological health of the squad is absolutely crucial to success, but pretending the captain should be utterly immune to a manager’s toxicity is just silly, especially when it’s a guy who lead through emotion, and that’s always playing with fire even at the best of times.

It's not far off a year since Mario Lemina started a game for Wolves.

Might be more pertinent to have a look at us playing three centre halves yesterday and none of them looked like they were good enough for this level.

Ah, thanks for telling me what i should be talking about, it's appreciated (y)

You and I regularly talk about 90s football? Should we stop doing that too?

It'd be weird on a verdict thread, less than 24 hours after the game finished, if I suddenly started wanging on about Paul Simpson.

You talk about what you want with Alan but I don't think anyone else finds it remotely interesting, what has this got to do with anything.

It's how conversations develop/evolve isn't it, this constant policing by people is completely unnecessary, are you worried about the server capacity or something?

This conversation started because of Nunes's post yesterday, it's a talking point. If you don't find it interesting move on, watch the Chelsea game or the Forest game.

I didn't find most of the bitching in this thread interesting yesterday, I didn't feel the need to tell people to stop talking about what they felt they wanted to, so why do you? Would you walk into a pub, hear a couple of people talking about something you weren't interested in and say "excuse me, can you talk about something else? This is boring to me, and I'm speaking on behalf of everyone else in the pub when I say it's boring for them too.."

What actually "derails" threads is people pissing and moaning about the subject of a conversation, not the actual subject itself!

Anyway THIS is fucking boring, cheers.

Fine, I'm just telling you that I don't give a shit what Mario Lemina does on social media. Absolutely none of my concern, he's a player I've not given a second's thought since he left.

What did you think of Doherty and Sa yesterday, I'm interested in that. Two players I've long since said aren't even close to good enough and you've defended.

Ah, really gunning for me lately aren't you?

I think Sa was poor on Haaland's 2nd, their 2nd was a great finish hit really early.

I wonder why he wears full length joggers and has done for a while? Particularly on hot days, injury?

Doc is Doc, he certainly isn't a cowardly "tub of fuck" i think thats pretty disgusting thing to say about him to be honest.

Especially when I think back as recently as last week when he put his head in where it really hurts to block a certain goal in a friendly!

Is he too passive when blocking sometimes, yes.
Do we need better? Yes,
Is he better than you think he is? Yes.
Does he currently have the weakest Premier League RWB we've ever had outside of him. Yes.
Do you "constantly" talk about him, and seemingly want him to fail? Yes.

On the 2nd paragraph: there are 5 players who started yesterday who should be bench warmers at best, Sa and Doc are 2 of them. Hoever, Bellegarde, and Munetsi are the others, although I thought Munetsi had a decent enough game and even looked okay in possession, which is new.

Fuck me, who left the lamb bone from sunday lunch out.

By the way that absolutely is cowardly yesterday. Look at the fucking state of it.

That's how he sets up and THEN he flinches out of the way.

I absolutely hate players putting their arms behind their backs, it means they don't shape up right at all. Bournemouth defenders doing it all over the shop the other night.

It's a totally flawed logic, but the nonsense hand ball law means it's a thing.
