Wolves 2- 3 Burnley verdict thread

Special shout out to Hwang, managed to absolutely destroy any positives from the left hand side. Bueno and Gomes can't defend but there was a little bit of energy/vague attacking threat.

Incredible how he's managed to steal worst player on the pitch from Hoever.

The team actively avoiding passing to Hoever was pretty clear, with Arias being invisible we had nothing on the right hand side.

Bellegarde looked better after the crowd gave him a verbal volley of abuse for a lazy challenge.

This is a team with no heart, limited ability, not style and no purpose. Vitor has to go but I doubt it will make any difference.

Losing to a team who were playing for a draw is incredible.

Shi or Vitor?

Because nothing changes really until it's the former.

I feel a bit sorry for Vitor. Nice guy and genuinely did us a favour last season (much more so than De Burgh did). Probably isn't actually a very good manager but he's been dealt a shocking hand by a moron.
I was referring to Vitor but the sooner Fosun fuck off the better.

Honestly, I'm reaching the stage that if going down meant we got rid of Jeff and/or FOSUN id that it. They've sucked all the joy out of going to Wolves.
it won’t, it will just mean bottom half of the championship for the next 5 years

To be honest I don't actually care, I didn't get wound by the winner. It's a lot of apathy.

First half - shite, absolutely awful. Same as Leeds' first goal, we are undone by a very basic long ball. Krejci asleep but to be fair I thought the finish was lovely by Flemming. Second goal is similar, Hoever this time at fault and Bueno is pathetic dealing with it (it's not a foul). Burnley worked us out tactically. I didn't see the penalty incident very well but it let us back in the game. The second goal is actually a really good move, all of Bellegarde/Strand Larsen/Munetsi did well. We essentially had a midfield of 1 though as Munetsi and Bellgarde are otherwise passengers.

Second half we are okay, I actually think Bellegarde was decent - he was clattered by someone shortly before the penalty and then seemed to wake up, started putting a few tackles in and drove with the ball. Before then, cowardly. Rodrigo Gomes was our best player by far, I thought he put in a lot of effort all game and was dangerous but missing the final ball. Andre good but doesn't get on with the manager. Didn't mind Hoever that much either although nobody would pass to him (must be tactical...). Arias was overall weak and slow but his FK was good, very unlucky. The subs - they make us worse, Pereira's tactical decisions are shit. Gomes and Bueno were linking up well down the left and have a good connection, swapping them for Hwang and Wolfe... what the fuck. This is the first time I've seen Wolfe, he looks awful. Can barely jump or doesn't. Tchatchoua is rubbish and making a RB for RB swap, there's no idea there. We have a bunch of players who can't cross the ball annoyingly even when we had two big men in the box.

Also - we're chasing a goal in injury time vs a team sittiing on a point, they have gone to 3 CBs to defend their lead. We couldn't even get the ball off them, and then they even manage to score! Embarrassingly bad.

Unpleasant scenes at the end, don't like to see fans abusing the players. But Pereira coming over to argue as well? It doesn't matter if we are down. He is done. Has to go now.

Yikes.

If we had a plan in attack it appeared to be to put crosses in, but the plan floundered on our inability to put a decent cross in, time after time they'd either sail over everybody or go straight to their keeper. At the other end yet again the opposition scored easily without having to do anything difficult or unpredictable.

The simple fact is we have a squad of players that just are not good enough. Whilst VP has to go as relegation is 100% guaranteed if he doesn't, I'm pretty sure the likelihood of relegation only falls to about 98% ireespective of who we replace him with. Year after years of bloody awful recruitment will finally see us go down, the only job between now and the end of the season is to try and get the cab in some kind of state that next season we're looking to exit the Championship from the top not the bottom.

The situation is this I hate the championship I always have done and it’s not a relief going back there other than if we’re shit there it won’t be a visible to the world.
Having said this PL experience this season is becoming horrible and if we did come back I’d want it under new ownership. They’d treat like the cash cow it is and be arrogant enough to think we could bounce back each time.
To sum up I’ve got zero ambition for anything now.
Root cause of the entire problem is Fosun and Shi, remove that then you can objectively begin to rebuild.

The daft thing is they are not treating it as a cash cow, we'd have to make profit for it to be the case. They, and Jeff especially, are just massively incompetent.

Not sure about two months, but last season we seemed to have a plan. This season we're making it up as we go along. Yes we've lost our best players but so too did Bournemouth and Brentford. You and your mate Teti had the opportunity to bring in a lot of players and they all have one thing in common, they're not good enough. Even the best of them cost us a goal today with a basic error. Time to go VP, you've overseen a shambles for too long now.

I mentioned it twice in different ways during the commentary but it is worth summing up again.

The following players will have hopes of going to the World Cup next summer:

Sa, Santiago Bueno, Agbadou, Mosquera, Toti, Andre, Joao, JSL, Hwang, Arias.

Only THREE of the TEN were on the pitch for extended time today. They all clearly have an attitude problem - except Bueno? - and at the moment I can only see the two Colombians, Bueno and JSL going. So, why aren't they all responding and where are the leaders amongst them? What the **** is going on behind the scenes?

As for Matt Doherty he is still playing international football! He was captain last week and showed zero leadership. He was subbed after their disallowed goal, first goal and a header against the post all came down his side. He cries to the local rag and is not even on the bench today behind Poser Hoever and Headless Chicken Runner Tchatchoua. I never want to see his face again in a Wolves shirt.
PS He had a double relegation in May 2013 and was plucked from the golf course more recently. What a sick joke that he is still with us and was considered to be captain material last week.

Fed up.... yet again!

Fosun have killed my enthusiasm so much that I wasn’t even that bothered when they scored. I think I found it amusing more than anything. Cheers for that, Jeff.
Me neither. For the first time in a long long time I’m not even bothered about going. Missing the next two away games will save me a massive chunk to go towards something currently more enjoyable.

Fans have been beyond patient with all this, many other clubs you’d have seen protests, banners and far more vocal dissent already.
What will happen is the numbness and apathy will go and the open revolt will kick in.
One fan in the North Bank with a professional looking “Fosun Out” banner (which wasn’t written on a bed sheet) Some good pocket money to be made selling them outside the ground for the foreseeable future.

Before I tear a new arse out of Jeffrey Shi lets address the elephant in the room. Was Strand Larsen given the armband to shut up his winging ? What an awful appointment from The king of the pints.

Only just got chance ro watch the game. We are just so poor. One of the biggest alarms for me was how flat we looked all through the game. When we got the equaliser just before half time I thought we'd come out second half and give it a real go, we didn't, just the same one paced (slow) build up. No urgency, no-one who is prepared to take a defender on.
Vitor has to go and we have to try turn things round. Obviously we are going down but at least give the fans something to cheer during the rest of the season.
