Wolves Loan Watch 2025/2026

He's Matt Hobbs' gas fitter

Plenty of good comments on Djiga’s performance tonight in the champions league
Yeah saw that. Seems he played in a back 4, clean sheet. Couple of comments that he had a few brain farts but overall they like his pace, strength, athleticism. Hopefully he gets plenty of minutes.

It'll be interesting to see how he copes with Russell Martin's football. The bits I've seen of him he doesn't exactly look comfortable with the ball at his feet. Rangers fans seem fairly desperate for Djiga to be some kind of cult hero for some reason, that'll quickly change if he's giving the ball away on the edge of his own box all the time.

He lost the ball as the last man on one occasion but it lead to nothing, fortunately for Rangers.

The fans I speak to seem to have decided that he's going to be a bit of a throwback legend center half and he's going to spend every old firm game kicking Celtic players up in the air. How they reconcile that with their managerial appointment I have no idea.

Latest loan round-up and other Wolves snippets in this week's Old Gold Report.

Thanks to everyone who subscribed last week and, as this is a work-in-progress, please feel free to suggest things for me to include in there!

I don't know how you could work this, but using the example of saying Campbell last year who played a significant amount. It would be good to have an interview with a blogger/writer of the loan team after a certain point of the season.

Best moments, is the loan working etc.

Do you mean a blogger for the club they're at? If so, I like that idea and it's definitely viable.

Lonwijk starting at left wing back for Luton this evening.

Yeah got it on, already had a decent amount of the ball as a result of the position.

Djiga playing for rangers away at Motherwell (tough place to go). He faces ex wolves academy player Elliott watt

Played okay mostly. It does feel like they don't actively involve him in possession but I would need to check the stats to confirm if that's real or just what I feel I have seen. Made a couple of good stops and blocks so far, did get turned and let someone past him for Motherwells best chance.

Spotted a few runs off his blind side or tracked a runner moving off the other CB, which I like.

(Posted this about 65 minute btw)
