As per the England Thread.

2 openers
Positions 3-5
1 all rounder
1 keeper
1 spinner
3 quicks

You can have a keeper/batsman if you wish and an all rounder as one of the quicks/spinner if you want.

First vote for the openers - four picks with placings getting 4, 3, 2 or 1 point. The keeper will be next so that it does not interfere with the batsmen's vote.
5 Picks for the batsmen
3 Picks for the all rounder
3 Picks for the keeper
3 Picks for the spinner
5 Picks for the quicks

Can we not pick a captain first? That way we get the best world skipper?

Nah. Get the team sorted first. So many interesting skipper possibilities but no guarantee they get in the team (Border for example)

Openers results....

Hayden 38
Smith 24
Cook 20
Greenidge 13
Gavaskar 11
Sehwag 10
Gooch 2
Turner 1
Langer 1

The great West Indies fast bowling attacks of the 70s and 80s had one player that tamed them. Gavaskar - he averaged 70 against them. I appreciate that most of you wouldn't have seen him play and would have heard about his 30 something not out off of 60 overs in the world cup!

Positions 3, 4 , 5 next..

This will be carnage!

Richards (Viv not Barry)
Smith (Steve)
Lara
Tendulkar

We not doing a specialist #3 for this then? Ok, no worries.

Ricky Ponting
Brian Lara
Kumar Sangakkara
Sachin Tendulkar
Steve Smith

That's just ridiculous. Plus all the players I've left out (Kallis missing as I'll save him for the all-rounder rather than waste him here).
