Maybe, but it was on a free and I think reported only 300k in compensation. We should make money on that if he scores a few goals at any point.

From the weekend:

Theo Corbeanu - MK Dons, League One

Played a full game in an awful 1-0 defeat at home to second-bottom Doncaster (I had them in my Last Man Standing). Corbeanu nearly scored one of the flukiest goals of all time after the ball spooned through the keeper's legs only for it to be cleared off the line.

Luke Matheson - Scunthorpe, League Two

An eventful one. Played the full game of a 1-0 defeat at home to Newport. Played a one-two to put him in on goal but was taken out by a defender to win the pen - which Scunny then missed.

Lewis Richards - Harrogate Town, League Two

Made his debut on the left of a back three and looked the part according to reports. Played 82 minutes of a 3-0 win and 'looked composed and assured as he went about his work, defending efficiently, while demonstrating the confidence to get on the ball and play out from defence when the opportunity arose.

Connor Ronan - St Mirren, SPL

Played the full game ina 2-0 cup win at Ayr.

Nigel Lonwijk - Fortuna Sittard, Dutch Eredivisie

An unhappy game for Nige as he's subbed off at half time with his side 2-0 down at RKC Waalwijk. The forward skipped around him for the first, he caught up but only helped it on to another striker who scored. Also guilty of a few sloppy passes.

Joe Young - Matlock Town, Northern Premier League (7th tier)

A big win for Young and Matlock as they beat second-placed Bamber Bridge 2-1. Young concedes his first goal for them via a pen.

On as sub: Dadashov came on for the last 10 minutes at 2-2 as his team chased a winner - they ended up conceding shortly after, and Dadashov was unlucky to have a late, late, sliding equaliser ruled out for offside. Patrick Cutrone also came on for the last 10 with his side 4-2 down to Roma, but couldn't do anything to alter the scoreline.

Unused sub: Vinagre

Not in squad: MGW (injured), Smith, O'Shaughnessy (illness)

No game: Campana, Bolla, Kawabe, Bonatini, Scott

That's a fine goal . He's not half as slight as he used to be either . If he can get a decent run in the side from now till the end of the season , it will do him a power of good .

I've added Adama to the list. Even though he almost certainly will never play for us again, it'll still be interesting to see how he gets on. I might go and watch him live a couple of times as well.

Just commented on Ryan Giles on Sky during the Cardiff game. We told them to come back on deadline day but they didn't want to wait so got another player in. Giles cleared out his flat in Cardiff yesterday.

Theo Corbeanu - MK Dons, League One
Played 73 minutes in a 1-0 win at Wycombe. It was his run from deep inside his own half to the edge of the box, then parried shot that led to a tap-in for his team mate for the only goal of the game.

Lewis Richards - Harrogate Town, League Two
Played almost the entire game in a 3-0 loss at Stevenage, and all the goals came down his side unfortunately. Was unlucky with the first in that his partially cleared header under pressure fell straight to an attacker, but was then caught out of position for the second then easily beaten for the third. Subbed just before stoppage time.

Hayao Kawabe, Bendeguz Bolla, & Leo Bonatini - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League

Bolla played the full game, while Leo and Kawabe were both taken off with 15 mins to go in a 2-0 defeat at Sion. Not much to report in an attacking sense, other than Bolla putting a good ball across the box only for Kawabe to completely miskick it. The defence look like they're missing Toti, too - all over the place.

Jackson Smith - Kettering Town, National League North
Came into the team to replace the injured number 1 and helped the team to a big 1-0 win away at Darlington. Dropped the ball a couple of times, and was unlucky not to concede to the one and only Jake Cassidy, but his goal kick led to the only goal. Not quite José Sa levels, but he'll take it.

Joe O'Shaughnessy - Hednesford Town, Southern League Premier Division Central (7th tier)

Made his debut in a 2-1 win at Hitchin. Unlucky with the goal which spooned over his head.

On as sub: Dion Sanderson came on after 66 minutes in QPR's 4-0 win over Reading. Luke Matheson came on for the second half in Scunthorpe's loss at Port Vale.

Not in squad: MGW (injured), Vinagre, Dadashov, Sang-Bin.

No game: Traore, Cutrone, Ronan, Lonwijk, Campana, Scott, He, Young.

Have added the Giles to Blackburn move to the OP, and also the two keepers: Sondergaard to Hereford (NL North) and Moulden to Ebbsfleet (NL South).

It means Pardington is the most senior youth option training with Wolves at the moment, so maybe he's the new third choice? Unless they can call Moulden/Sondergaard back in case of injury.

Just discussing on the other thread, it's Pardington or Arinbjornsson as everyone else is out on loan.

What this does demonstrate (25 players out on loan now) is how unfit for purpose the current model of U23s football is. We're sending players to Matlock, Kettering, the League of Ireland etc rather than use the traditional in-house route of development. It simply doesn't help anyone because the standard is so low.

I'm not sure what the answer is, because there's no way we're going back to the 80s/90s where the reserves were made up of a mix of young players and out of favour/recovering senior squad members, and putting U21 teams into the Football League Trophy has been a failure and more or less signalled the death knell for that tournament (look at some of the attendances in the early rounds), but at the moment it's a waste of everyone's time.
