Hi

I'm a Sunderland fan and I've been keeping an eye on the potential expansion of Molineux.

I've been reading about the capacity of the stadium potentially being increased to 50,000 in the future. I was wondering if fans think that is the right number or maybe too high?

Back in 2000, we were flying under Peter Reid finishing 7th and we extended after only three years at the stadium of light, from 42,000 to 48,000. The team declined quickly and we've been left with a stadium that we can't fill regularly unless we were a top 8 team.
The initial capacity was the right size because in our last ten years of the Premier league we averaged around 41,000. It's definitely better to have a stadium at full capacity than 7,000 empty seats.

Obviously not at the moment but on the whole, I think we are clubs of a similar size with big fanbases so I'd be interested in what people think. Personally I believe it's best to have a capacity for all scenarios both when the club is flying or during mediocre times because you don't want to be in the same position as us.

Good luck for the season and hope we meet in the top flight soon
