All time World 11

Fontaine was just 13 I think, all in the same tournament?

Original Ronaldo got 15, Klose got to 16 in 2014 when he was on his last legs.

Edit: Gerd Müller got 14 too

Andy Moller wasn't shit either, the preening git.

I admire him :icon_lol:

Despite my love for all things German, the country, the people etc, you'd better believe that if I stick the winning penalty away for England in the Olympiastadion, I'm doing the exact same thing. Damn good player too.

That 1990 team was a machine. Wouldn't say they were beautiful to watch but they had no real weak links. Illgner was probably the worst on show and he managed to win a Champions League with Real Madrid many years later.

Bit early for you but I have to put Paul Brietner in. Two goals in different World Cup finals.

trying to do this German team while listening to Rammstein makes me want to find an East German! Heike Dreschsler would be decent in the air. Good jump on her.

Brazil:

---------------------Ederson---------------------

Cafu--------Lucio--------Thiago Silva-------Roberto Carlos

---------Emerson*-----Mauro Silva----Leonardo----------

-----------Rivaldo------Ronaldo-----Ronaldinho------------

*Not the Boro one

Too young for Zico, Falcao or Socrates.

Couldn't fit Kaka in without cheating, he was immense for a short period but burned out pretty quickly. Had pretty much had it before he was 30.

Neymar can fuck off, dickhead.

Romario was a tough one to leave out but again there's only one spot for an out and out striker and no-one is beating the greatest of all time.

Argentina:

-------------------------Roa-------------------------

Zanetti---------Ayala----------Samuel--------Sorin

---------Redondo---Mascherano---Riquelme------

---------Messi-------Batistuta-----Maradona-------

Slim pickings in goal and at LB.

Portugal:

-------------------------Patricio----------------------

Miguel----------Couto---------Carvalho-----------Guerreiro

------------------------Moutinho---------------------

---------------Rui Costa-----------Deco---------------

--------------------Figo---------Futre--------------------

-------------------------Ronaldo------------------------

Netherlands:

--------------------------Van der Sar----------------------

-------------Stam---------Koeman----F de Boer-------------

----------------------------Rijkaard--------------------------

-----------------Gullit------Davids--------Sneijder--------------------

--------------------Robben---------Bergkamp-------------------

----------------------------Van Basten---------------------------

Total football there...

Would have liked to get Seedorf and/or van Nistelrooy in but no dice.

Scotland:

--------------------------Goram---------------------------

McKimmie---------Gough--------Weir------------Robertson

Strachan-----------McStay------McAllister--------Collins

--------------------Ferguson-----McCoist--------------------

That's not a bad team actually. Again too young for Souness, Jordan, Dalglish etc.

--------------------------Lloris--------------------------

Thuram----------Varane--------Desailly----------Lizarazu

------------------------Makélélé-------------------------

-----------------Vieira-------------Zidane-----------------

------------Griezmann----Henry-----Ribéry-----------------

What a side (bar the goalkeeper). Platini would have to go in there but appreciate that Euro 84 was before your time. Griezmann or Ribery would have to miss out.

Realistically it's Lloris or Barthez and Fab was just too unreliable. You never knew what you were going to get.

Lloris was really good until about 2-3 years ago and has slipped a lot since. You forget how long he's been around though, Spurs signed him in 2012 and he'd already been France's first choice for a couple of years before that.
