Olympiacos FC (A) 12/03/20 - Following Nuno, Drinking The Ouzo

Barring Armenia, as it was just improbable so soon after Belfast, friends or I have been to every game. Unfortunately, because of points, not normally all of us have been in the away end but we have tried on every occasion to get tickets that haven't been collected at the rendezvous point. You do need ID to collect them, but the checks of said ID haven't been very stringent...

Our group has used ID to collect tickets bought by other people and age/photo matches haven't really been anywhere near the same! They are suggesting passports, but Driving Licences are easier to carry, use and the poorer photo quality can make you look similar to the purchaser. Obviously if asked why you haven't brought your passport to the collection point, it's because the hotel has kept it as a deposit.

Personally, we haven't had ID and tickets checked together at the ground, although we know some did in Turin.

Judging by other matches, this was always going to be the case.
Think its a mish mash of "disposable income",getting the time off work.....again and the impending doomsday death thing.

\most other away matches have sold out before they've got beyond AST holders. Armenia and possibly Istanbul being the exceptions.

If anyone has a ticket and decides not to go, are they transferable? Or are they picked up with ID? I suspect this will be cancelled anyway because everyone is over-reacting but I got my annual bonus today and it is so shit I am going to take some time off... Been working like a dog and am insulted, screw them, I fancy taking some time away, love Athens already and sacrifice seeing Wolves for my work.....
When you buy the ticket you've got to enter your passport number etc which is then printed on the ticket. Non-transferable.

Ticket checks have been lax at a few games but according to Arsenal/Spurs fans who have been to Olympiacos recently it's quite strict there.

Should go to members though so anyone who wants to go shouldn't have to much trouble getting a ticket.

Thanks Lycan (and all the others who have commented)...

I live abroad so dont often get to games, don’t have loyalty points and am not a member. Maybe if it looks like the game is going ahead I can buy a ticket with someone else with my genuine PP number etc? Would that work?

Is this just for olimpiacos? I’ve never put a passport number in for Braga or Espanyol.

Braga ticket check was non existent, gave my name and they gave me my envelope, but I was soaked so maybe they Jsut felt sorry for me. But my mates at other desks needed ID. For Espanyol they asked for my passport and gave me my ticket. Not sure they really look at photo, just check details match. The guy was confused when my mate gave his license for Espanyol as they’d printed his DOB backwards on the envelope, they could have just looked at photo and saw it was same person but he was more bothered about the details.

At Braga and Espanyol I honestly think you could have given any persons ID that matched ticket details. If you need passport number for Olimpiacos then you might struggle, but it’s going to go all the way down anyway.

Yeah, this is a new thing. Booked my Olympiacos ticket yesterday and you had to provide passport details.

Espanyol (home end) required passport details on the website but then didn't put them on the the 'print at home' ticket. It could have been to stop Wolves fans buying them as they accepted my UK passport.

There were about 30. Second block of 800 just released, I hadn't realised they had been held back [or my view online didn't pick it up]

Greek media saying that the Government has decided all sporting events for the next two weeks will be behind closed doors. Obviously also encompassing our game.

Just like Brighton got a bad feeling about this one. Scared of going out 0-0 over there and 1-1 at home

That has to help us! It will be like playing on moon base alpha when traditionally that stadium is a bit of a cauldron. I can see us winning there and drawing at home

Not sure it helps anyone tbh. Strange atmosphere for all concerned. Also I feel for those who have booked flights, got hotels etc

Pav can invite them to his for drinks and olives

Well it is a bit of cauldron, tough place to go historically. You’d think if we were looking at this game purely on ability of the two squads then we are favourites. Take out the crowd advantage in their home game and that should work in our favour.

It would be a nice gesture if the club offers to reimburse fans travel costs if it is the case.

Do you think Manny will lend me his gazebo? I might need to flog a few samosas before the Bournemouth game to recoup my flight and hotel costs.
