Snooker

He's a proper hunchback these days.

Dreadful on comms too, as is Taylor. The Beeb promised ages ago they were getting rid of that pair and they're still there.

Alan McManus and Neal Foulds on TNT are the way to go for comms, but I want Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis for the studio stuff, so I'm torn.

I know Virgo is a dinosaur but I still enjoy him on comms. Taylor not so much. Also still like Doherty, Parrott, Foulds and and McManus. Hendry is still the best though IMO.

Of the current players who give it a go I like Shaun Murphy and Mark Allen.

I always imagine Murphy commentating on himself with a headset.

"Well the Magician has a choice of reds here, which one will he pick"

Brilliant. Get Virgo out in his comically big Dennis Taylor glasses, sharpish!!

Talking of Virgo I noticed he's in Dictionary Corner on Countdown at the minute telling his stories.

It was close. They did a live version of Big Break with Doherty, Taylor and White

Higgins v Williams has been a great watch since last night's session. Got a final frame decider all over it.

That was a classic. Wasn't the best snooker in terms of quality but great watch.

Williams is still a phenomenal potter of balls. Won him the match ultimately too with that last blue.

I've really enjoyed watching Xintong the last couple of days. Cueball control isn't exactly his strength, but he's potting as well as anybody this week

5 on the spin for Judd tonight to put Luca away.

Ronnie struggling to fall over the line on the other table.

Ronnie can be tiresome (the whole "I'm playing shit" stuff when he obviously isn't, pulling out at the very last minute from tournaments he clearly was never going to play in) but it's equally tiresome to deny what an incredible player he is and that he genuinely does struggle mentally.

I thought we were past the latter bit and as someone with bipolar some of the comments on social media don't sit well with me.

You haven't got to be bawling your fucking eyes out to feel like shit.

Shame Luca got knocked out. Seriously the most fun player to watch. Hard to see anyone beating Judd given how well he's playing but would love to see MW make another final.

As for Ronnie, I think he's just a perfectionist who having played perfect snooker so many times just judges himself on a different basis to how anyone else would. so I get where he's coming from and how that affects his mental state. having watched some of his frames he's looked way off his best to me, though obv still capable of brilliance.

Watched Ronnie this morning, 0-8 wasn't an unfair reflection of how it went, just completely outplayed and that's surely game over.

Trump vs MJW is going to be left at 8-8 going into tomorrow.

Bad luck for those people who had tickets for tomorrow afternoon.

At least they don't have to turn up just to see one frame like Wednesday night!
