The 1-2 Crying Game Verdict thread

Just like the rest of the team he's been poor in the last month. This does also coincide with him signing permanently, which I hope is just that, coincidence. I think the difference is he's built credit up in the bank, so avoids a lot of the criticism, others haven't.

I'd say it's just as likely to result from the loss of Cavaleiro and teams can now double up on Costa knowing Weimann doesn't offer much threat on the opposite flank.

As much as Cav is frustrating I think we are missing him badly, any news on how long he is out for? Weimann doesn't look like a winger to me, hes not that quick and doesn't really run with the ball he looks like he should be playing up top with Bod IMO.

February proves the stop Costa stop wolves argument. Cav can't get back soon enough for me

I'm not sure we have a losing mentality but we do have a soft mentality. There's no real leadership anywhere. You look at most successful sides and they have some really mentally solid leaders who get them going again, we don't have anyone at all. The reason Middlesbrough did so well the last few seasons was the likes of leadbetter. Friend and Clayton driving them on and really making life hard for the opposition, we need to get some real pro's into the club.

Having said that, the sending off was the first time I've seen us react to something and make sure the referee took action - I enjoyed that as normally we'd just wait and hope the ref did something in a nice and naive manner.

Look at the size of Edwards and saville dots. Fucking waste of space the pair of them.

I think I said right at the start of the season that you could get away with playing one but not both. Edwards offers a bit more goal threat, Saville can do the defensive parts a little better if he puts his mind to it (he didn't on Friday). But generally they both offer nothing in general play.

We have someone that does analysis of our games and feeds it into lambert don't we - either he's really bad at his job or lambert ignores it.

There is a team of analysts who review data post match. But all they do is give data to somebody (I can only assume Thelwell). It is what they do with that data, the quality of it, what is actually collected and the manipulation of it.

I think there is a world of possibility with data from games but the variables are vast and nobody has got it right yet. It clearly isn't working at Wolves and snapshots of Tony Daley's social media feed suggests a more athletic based approach. Admittedly we do not know what they correlate that to. Whatever it is isn't working and will only take into account those that play in the games. Comparing training to games would be daft.

i'd expect tomorrow the players would all be made to sit and watch the video of the match, and for PL to actually see what certain didn't/couldn't do. in the days of Frank Munro, he'd have seen who wasn't performing and he'd have 'a word' with them at half time and beyond. pity we don't have a leader in the squad to do the same now.

The atmosphere was very poisonous in the SB, we could clearly see our fans tossing stuff over the side onto Blues fans below, but the Blues fans were total scummers as usual, ripping out seats and flinging them up into the SB upper. Fucking wankers.

In saying that, we also saw 3 flare ups in the NB amongst our own fans, bloke 2 rows behind us was escorted out as he stood up roaring he was gonna smash someones face blah blah blah, and also saw trouble in the bar at the middle of the NB.

It wasn't a nice atmosphere on Friday - not helped by the performance but that doesn't excuse the utter nonsense from supposed grown men.

The racist fucktard stood behind me didn't shut up throughout the game (used the phrase 'fucking immigrants' at pretty much every Birmingham player - and worse was reserved for David Davis) and the abuse and objects thrown at Davis was just moronic. I hate that shit - he 'shushed' the crowd who'd been shouting abuse at him all game - big bloody deal. If they can't take it, don't give it out in the first place.

Fortunately the trouble had gone by the time I got to the station but it did mean my train left late and missed the subsequent connection meaning a nice expensive taxi ride home!

Why are you surprised Langers. Trouble between Wolves and Birmingham has been like this since Gods dog.

I'm not - it's just a side to football that I abhor.

I agree, this side of football is awful. Unfortunately you expect trouble at a local derby because it attracts the moronic idiots; what I find totally abhorrent is the amount of abuse by individual fans aimed at the players - often at our own players. Why the stewards continually ignore racial and other abuse is beyond me. If they feel too threatened to deal with it identify the offender to the police.

As I said in my previous post the atmosphere in SC lower was vile especially when we went 2-0 down counted numerous times our own fans squared up to each other and most of these were between grown men aged 45+.
One of whom decided to argue with the stewards for 20 minutes during the 2nd half and seemed to blame them for everything.
Not at all surprised by the trouble Wolves v blues has always bought out the lowest moronic behaviour of both fans.

i dont mean to be negative but i think its about time we got rid of all the backroom staff and bring in brand new personal as these performances arent just down to one manager its down to the way they're being trained and also backroom staff that have been here for far to long and have there fav players who get picked time after time after time.

I personally think we should have given the new players more time to gel but most of all of them have now gone and playing Savile or Price ahead of Sais when your against a strong and physical
side like blues is stupid, we didnt have a midfield for 60 mins of the match. Also playing Edwards as no.10 is already bloody stupid it doesnt work!

Its time for a change.

Also i dont know if anyone else has noticed but when Mason plays we play alot better and normally win

We looked better going forward with him at No. 10, but then again we also had Cavaleiro on the left at the same time. Hard to say whether Mason alone will make a difference.

Masons not very good - he doesn't score many, he doesn't create much, he's not good in the air, he's not quick, he's not great at dribbling or finishing. I'd have bright ahead of him, and he's still learning and doesn't create or score either at the moment.
