The NFL Thread

Yeah signing cousins was stupid and then even more so if taking a QB in the draft. I can’t comment on the ability of the player or next years draft though so will bow to your wisdom. On the Giants though they’ve only moved up 9 spots so the capital isn’t going to be too comparable to moving up 20, fully accepting I don’t know if the player was a reach or not.
Yeah, I'm not for a second suggesting I know anything about Pearce, just going on the concensus big boards. He could be a pro bowler for all I know next season, just doesn't look great from a value perspective. It's the kind of move made by a GM who knows without the play offs next year he won't have a job

Fuck, the Draft is so shit now.

Seth Freakin' Rollins making a Bears pick announcement 😎
Burn it down! 🔥

I mentioned on here a few weeks back that an NFL team would have to be mighty convinced of the talent to take Sanders and the circus that comes with him. They weren't. Whoever takes him now will have a lower level of that for someone they are picking to be 3rd or 4th choice going into camp. Some self reflection needed in the Prime household

Sanders picked by the Browns (lucky him) in the 5th round. If he's any sense he won't agree terms with them.

The draft coverage is absolute trash. Lots of talking, not even bothered showing the last few picks.

I've not watched any of it, it's not exactly exciting stuff even in the first round really.

Woohoo it's another offensive lineman off the board.

To what end, though? Sliding that far says he doesn't have much in the way of leverage.

Still the most important unit on any team IMO.
Obviously winning in the trenches is a big thing and it's why the Eagles and the Buccaneers beat the Chiefs in the Superbowl, but from an excitement standpoint it's about as exhilarating as buying a new right back in football.

I was mostly joking due to the Browns being an absolute car crash. But as they picked another QB in round three instead of him its hardly a vote of confidence in his ability. The Browns now have five QB on the team with him so unless he's phenomenal in camp (his college record and his whole general attitude suggests he probably won't be) then he'll probably get cut anyway.

Speak for yourself, Nélson is the most exciting player purchase we've ever made in my book. ;)

Just watched the film Draft Day (heed the call watch along) and although the premise is totally absurd (giving up three first round picks to trade from 7th to 1st only to then end up picking a linebacker) it was a vaguely entertaining albeit implausible look at the NFL draft.

Frankly the most unrealistic bit was Cleveland having a draft worth celebrating.

Was meant to be the Bills originally but was much cheaper to film in Cleveland so they changed it.

I've been rewatching the X-Files recently and in the episode Memoirs of a cigarette smoking man, said shady government figure CSM states in a meeting (after being told the Bills are really pushing for it) that the Bills will never win a super bowl whilst he's still alive.

Actor William B Davis is still going strong age 87 and they ain't won one yet.

It's a shock it's come from the Falcons with them being so organisationally sound. I'd take a Day 2 pick off them next year, it was really shitty.

Kissing ass as a form of protection is my guess.
