Always a fabulous spectacle and this time it's on European soil where the Americans haven't won for 25 years.

Arguably it's America's best ever line up with a team ethic to go along with their star studded side. I'd like to see a Europe win, preferably with Mcilroy losing each game, but I can see it happening this time. 16-12 to the Yanks

Their team just looks too strong this time. Of course we've been massive underdogs before and won, but I think they'll have far too much.

Garcia and Stenson look like luxury picks that we just can't afford.

I'd love Fatrick Reed to lose every match, the prick. And Bubba of course.

Gotta love talksports logic of sending Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist on a jolly to Paris to cover this basically a glorified piss up.
Same Alan Brazil who refused to go to Russia in the summer because he didn’t fancy it.

3-1 USA after the morning four balls.

Not managed to keep track after watching them tee off this morning but have set Sky Go up on my iPad for the afternoon.

1-3 was the bet before the session do no surprises. I've got 2.5 - 1.5 for the afternoon

Rose and Rahm really shouldn't have lost from where they were, should have been a half at least there.

Rory was very poor.

Up in all four as it stands...

Yes lots of blue on the board so far, still a long way to go though.

Fuck me what a start though. Yanks look all over the place, missing some very makeable putts too

Stenson and Rose 5 up with seven to play, Garcia and Noren 6 up after eight!

Never doubted them guv.

Mcilroy doing his best to keep the USA in it this afternoon. You might guess I'm not his greatest fan.

Oh well at least my comments have made him buck his ideas up!

I think that is one of the best golf shots I have ever seen in my life from Rory McIlroy.

That is pure unadulterated talent. I don't think the crowd could see quite how good it was.

3 points to Europe in 5 minutes and 4 up after 13 in the fourth match!

Europe now 4-3 ahead

As Glenn would say, we put them to the sword.

Surreal session of golf.

Big test for Furyk to pick the team up now.

First ever whitewash in Foursomes for Europe and a record won holes difference too... 17 holes clear 3&2, 4&2, 5&4 and 5&4

5-3

Is it really that bad for them? Yes they lost 4 this afternoon, but they won 3 this morning. Only a one match swing in reality.

Obviously they'll need to play better tomorrow than they did this afternoon, but I doubt they're that concerned just yet.

It depends how they deal with the turnaround mentally

Think of it this way...whatever happens tomorrow, Wolves can't go below 12th place this weekend. That's perfectly ok at this stage. But if we lost 5-0 and loads of our big players had an absolute shocker, there'd likely be knock on effects and you wouldn't really fancy us at Palace the week after.

Maybe. On the flipside, a sound beating is a great motivator to go out there in front of a partisan crowd and prove the doubters wrong.
