Wolves are delighted to announce the signing of Villareal midfielder Alfred N’Diaye on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old, who has enjoyed previous loan spells in the Premier League with Hull City and Sunderland, is currently on international duty with Senegal, for whom he has 10 caps.

Welcome Alfred, hope you have a good season for us.

Has experience at a good level should be more than good enough for the Championship and good back up for either CM. Seems like a good signing on the face of it.

Most Hull and Sunderland fans I've seen online seem to think he was a good player. Can't say I remember him personally but cover in midfield seems a good idea.

Should be a decent option to bring on to see games out.

Definite upgrade on Edwards.

Show's what the general consensus is on here towards this signing that a thread took so long to pop up!

I'm guessing he was quite some way down our list of potential targets if they literally snuck it in during the final knockings of the transfer window. Another body (and he's a big, physical presence), but almost certainly behind Neves, Saiss, Price & Ronan. Long old season, though, so I'm sure he'll be required at some point.

It's not Alfred's fault that peoples' expectations of signing a striker haven't materialised, so I thought the polite thing to do was to welcome him to our club, as has been our tradition.

Welcome Alfred
I cant wait for a chant!
Going to have a shot... Alfeeeeee!

Welcome to Wolves, Alfred. :)

Now it's up to you to show us Wolves fans what you can do and help us towards our ultimate goal of Premier League football next season.

I actually think he'll be ahead of Price and Ronan will be used more as an inside forward so we'll see a decent amount of him imo.

Totally agree. I was about to do a thread until I saw yours.

Ahead of Price yes; I still rate and want to see more of Ronan though, and agree he'll be this season's utility man. Perhaps there is also a bit of N'Diaye covering for Coady too?

We needed competition for Saiss and not short on CMs now so happy with it. Welcome. Just wish you brought a striker with you :)

Aye - good work gents.

Not massively sold on N'Diaye TBH but we do need a bit of cover in that area so at least we've got an extra player to consider. He's an upgrade on Price, and certainly better than Saville so I hope he does well. My main issue (which is probably me being a bit greedy) is that I can't see him being good enough to make the step up should we get promoted, as a permanent option was mentioned as part of the deal. We'll see - happy to give him a chance.

N'Diaye will always love you.

He didn't look very good to me at Sunderland and Hull. We'll see.

Brilliant :ursofunny:

Indeed. So clever that I didn't even get it first time round. No chance of hearing that in the South Bank, then. On the plus side also, we've now got a Fred to go with Phil, Rod, Bill et al.

I must admit I know little about him, but I wish him well at Wolves.
