How long has Corbyn got left?

The NEC meet next week to set the wheels in motion for a leadership race, and this takes (maybe) six to eight weeks.

It's up to the PLP to put up some candidates though.

I appreciate your attempt at a gag with this thread, but there's no point having two Corbyn threads.

I backed Hilary Benn to be the next Labour leader about 6 months ago. Unlikely I know with the power in the hands of a bunch of twats but I feel he would make an authentic leader and bring the party back to a position of being an electable proposition.
The way it stands at the moment I think a total split in the party is more likely.

Dan Jarvis would be the smart choice, no chance of it actually happening. It’ll be some other loon, probably Long-Bailey.

Zero chance of them being electable with Long-Bailey in charge, so more than likely she'll get the gig.
She always come across to me as a sulky schoolgirl who's had a bollocking for forgetting her homework or summat.

Process begins 7th Jan, new leader will be in place by the end of March.

Let’s see if Labour can rescue itself from the nut balls.

Angela Rayner would do. I'd prefer a woman and it should be someone who doesn't come across as 'metropolitan elite'.

It'll be Long Bailey with Burgon as Deputy, because they are that stupid. Rayner would be a better choice. You can rule out Nandy and Phillips, the cult wouldn't accept them

Burgon has ruled himself out I think. Long-Bailey wouldn't be a wise move IMO.

Burgon said on one of the Sunday shows he'd consider running for Deputy.. They'll chose Long Bailey because she'll be Corbyn's choice. She doesn't come with his baggage, but doesn't strike me as someone who will connect with the electorate

Given the impending EHRC report, perhaps having an accomplished lawyer at them would be a good idea. So Starmer. Phillips as deputy to balance the ticket.

Not a chance of Starmer.

Long Bailey would be a disaster.
Starmer would be my choice if he were willing.

Starmer won't get past Momentum

And Labour will continue to be a fringe party if they appoint Long-Bailey, the equivalent of a sixth form politics student at the head of your party.

Boris must be loving this.

That's what the Labour Party is now though as per Alan Johnson's take down, the politics of the student's union

If they have any sense, it'll be Phillips.

They don't, though.
