Keir Starmer at it again..

Maybe the country see Boris as doing a good job on the vaccine and think 'why rock the boat?'

There's a lot of businesses that think the support measures were the right thing to do. Rishi Sunak could be seen to be good with the economy.

On local issues to me there is a Tory MP who is seen to be doing something where the last Labour MP would do nothing.

These issues may well drag floating across the divide.

I don't think the far left interest Labour so they may well need a home somewhere. Starmer is more interested in those floating voters by the looks of things.

But then polls have been a load of bollocks for a while.

Personally I think this Tory govt has the same feel as the last days of Major and they know it.

I think change will come next election but feel it will be Nandy rather than Starmer who will be PM.

I was happy to see KS become leader, but to be honest I don't think he is doing a particularly good job.
He is in opposition to a government that lies and cheats virtually every day, never mind their Covid performance - and yet he hardly lays a glove on BJ during PMQ's and when he is interviewed on TV and radio.

They need to call out all the Conservative lies and cheating. Every day. Just keep repeating it over and over again. The Tories have proved that the electorate like silly little slogans so make one up and use it again and again.

There is no way that Labour will win the next election doing what they are doing now. They need to wake up - and fast.

Starmer is a conventional debater in unconventional times. Difficult to lay a glove when the other guy continually lies contrary to all evidence. I think he's been weak on corruption and cronyism, but against the backdrop of Brexit and Covid it's difficult to cut through to the politically indifferent. His best chance is the long game, but with GE's again being in the hands of the government timing wise it wouldn't surprise me if we have one in the Spring of 2023 which will be too early for him I think.

I think he takes Johnson apart in most weeks at PMQs but as TT says it doesn’t cut through to the politically indifferent. If you know before you vote him in that he’s a cheat and a liar then it’s going to take something huge to make you look elsewhere. If decisions he made killed 10s of thousands of people unnecessarily but you’ll forgive him as he made a decision to give someone a blank cheque book to wave around in the vaccine experiment centres then ...

The issue is there if he hadn't done that and we tailed behind other countries he'd have been pilloried as well, so that was a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation

Nah, that’s bollocks. There’s a list of suppliers of PPE and a shit tonne of manufacturers that could’ve supplied in a heartbeat, none of them got contracts.

It is corrupt and deplorable behaviour. Literally stealing public money.

No one cares though. It’s all very ‘decline and fall’.

I don’t think that’s true. I fit the floating voter category and it’s one of the reasons I won’t vote Tory in the next election.

I was on about the supply of vaccines not the PPE , I'm not defending that one :)

He employed a competent medical professional and I believe she did everything by the book.
So he didn't just " give someone a blank cheque book to wave around in the vaccine experiment centres then"?

It’s perhaps the only thing he got right in the whole pandemic (hiring some who knew what they were doing).

A damning indictment on both politics and the civil service. If only we could rip them both apart and start again.

Well Rod sounds like a right cunt doesn't he.
No doubt about it, however you have to query Starmer's PR team taking him to a pub in Bath with an anti lockdown Landlord, there must have been dozens of other pubs they could have gone to without this issue? Reminiscent of Starmer appearing at a church that opposed hary rights church last month too. It only takes 2 minutes of research to not make these fuck up surely?

Also, Starmer's minders appear to be restraining the landlord within his own pub?

If you're a bodyguard, and there's a fella obviously off his chanks lunging at the guy you're supposed to protect, of course you're going to manhandle him out of the way. Don't be daft.

I'm not disputing that, i'm querying why his minders were stupid enough to take Starmer into a pub where the landlord clearly hated him?
