The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2018/19

I see Albion have got the Lincoln boss on their shortlist of targets. Now the job at Lincoln has been very very impressive but if he gets the Albion job I hope he can change his style as they are very much a hoooooooooooooooooof it team from what I have seen.

Only a foolish coach would try and get those Albion defenders to play out from the back.

Lincoln set off an air raid siren every time they get a corner. The bloke sounds perfect for Albion

They are genuinely awful to watch, even by League Two standards.

They still sit and dream about Tony Mowbray and his total (bollocks) football...

The way the fans have reacted to not retaining Gayle suggests that a bad appointment could lead to pitchforks and torches

They have said they want a manager to get the fans excited every game
On shortlist - Chris Hughton.

Now Hughton would be a great appointment but he wont deliver the excitement they crave

Steve Clarke runs away from a potential Wolves v Killie Europa clash and takes the Scotland job

Hughton reminds me of Lambert when he came here. Do you judge him on his latest or earlier work? Newcastle weren't a negative side in the Championship and neither were Brighton. Lambert remained negative post Villa, what will Hughton do?

Still wouldn't say they were exciting teams (well Brighton weren't, can't really remember his Newcastle team).

I think Albion are saying they want a full on "lets go for it" manager...whilst slashing their wage bill and limiting their spending. I would say there is massive confusion at that club right now, starting from the owner who doesn't seem to grasp football all that much and purchased a football club to try and promote his business outside of the UK (now our owners are essentially doing that but they get that you have to actually spend a bit and how money in football works)

Can't even think who would fit that bill. Plus you need to have the players and Albion don't. Luton scored crazy amounts of goals under Nathan Jones but he hasn't been able to replicate that at Stoke, they've had tons of 0-0 draws since he came in.

No one. That is their problem.

Fast running into Moxey territory with comments they know are not going to fit into the final outcome

As as well Hughton and Cowley, the E&S say Albion want to speak with Michael O'Neill

So hard to judge him. He's clearly done a brilliant job with an extremely limited set of players but how does that translate to being a club manager who is expected to win promotion playing an expansive brand of football?

Sky Italua are breaking a story that Chelsea are set to sack Sarri and replace him with Lampard.

Frank Lampard's Chelsea?

It's an obvious/lazy link, but I think Lampard would be silly to take it now with the likelihood of a transfer ban and the selling of their best player. It'll come round again in another couple of years, it always does.
