"Nice pint"

"Cheers"

"Looks a bit like mine"

"What make's yours?"

"Birra Moretti. Yours?"

"Birrificio Angelo Poretti"

I had that on tap in a pub a few months ago.

I looked at the pumps and said "Pint of Moretti please". Barman says, "you mean Poretti?" And I had to do a double take.

It tasted almost identical. I still prefer Moretti though.

When it comes to lagers, Moretti, Carslberg Export and Staropramen are my go tos.

I've tried to taste different stuff, like a craft lager box from Beer52 but they were 99% shite. Then they bombarded me with emails asking me to buy more. And when I rang to cancel the sub he asked me why and wouldn't take no for an answer until I got shirty with him.

Any German Helles pisses all over any of the aforementioned. Or, for a more easily accessible British option, Lost & Grounded Keller Pils is the nuts.

I'm at the Camden Brewery Bar next week will see what it's like there.

Although I will be hitting the stuff they make there more than the Hells

Full report on my desk by the next morning please.

You should know by now this thread is very serious.

Aren’t most of them brewed in the UK anyway, despite their foreign origins?
Yes that's true. When I worked at Carlsberg Tetley/Bass/Coors we brewed loads of stuff from Europe, and even farther afield like Budweiser.
