Loan Window Thread

Strange, if he's good enough for us to agin why don't we give him a longer longer contract?

Because he is a walking injury, not a chance he is getting a deal longer than a few months. . See the Transfer Spec thread

Not just his fitness. He seems to have been very highly rated at one point but has obviously missed a lot of development because of his time out injured. It'd probably take a longer look to see if he still has that potential at 20 years old.

very unusual for kids who have big injuries in their teens to make it. they simply miss too much.

Especially injuries as bad as cruciate ligaments. I went to a lecture by the leading ACL reconstruction surgeon in the UK, who does the majority of the ACL surgery on premier league and championship footballers. He said he's operated on loads of players at 16/17 years old, and not a single one of them has gone on to forge a professional career. It's just too much of a disruption at that age in terms of learning the game and developing physically. By the time their knee is healed, they're a couple of years behind their team mates and never catch up. sad really.

Early in pre-season KJ and Sellars were talking about how teams cast off young players too early and that they should still be allowed the chance to break into the first team at 21/22. Maybe they feel that with a year or two at U21 level Swan can catch up on the time he's missed and still become a decent player.

According to Sky S. this morning, they report Wood is to snub us for the 2nd time.
He allegedly stated that he still wants to fight for his place at Leicester!!!!

I see George Margreitter has gone out on loan to Chesterfield for three months. Another one off the wage bill.

Be interesting to see how he does there, they play the right way to suit his supposed strengths.

93 day loan, that's a funny one! Chesterfield play decent football and if he plays regularly it will be very interestingt to see how he does

Well yes a lot of it was to d with shifting 'the old guard' but harsh on Margreitter (and Boukari) to be lumped in it. Margreitter seemed to have a good attitude and was rated amongst the players..

Sako could easily have been included in that but we know why he wasn't! Too much of an asset to cast aside
