Rio 2016

Played for 15 yrs till my knee packed up though many yrs ago & rules have changed somewhat + mostly played on grass rather than artificial which makes a real difference (particularly in mid winter when the ground was frozen solid)

Rules change every 5 minutes now it seems, hard to keep up! Frozen pitches is now the only reason to call off games on astro, and the game is SO much faster (especially with new rules such as self pass free hits).

Frozen pitches were never a reason to call a game off when we played on grass - though you did often take your life in your hands.

If the ball hit a frozen divot then it could fly anywhere

I used to play at school but that's 20+ years ago now. Wasn't a bad player, went on a couple of tours to Holland/Germany, enjoyed it for a while, gave it up when I was about 15 because of course, I knew best. Bloody dangerous game! Got a fingernail that to this day only grows to a very short length after I lost it completely when a ball reared up and jammed my finger against the stick. Although on the flipside, one of the easiest games to get a bit of physical revenge if someone hurt you first.

Bloody dangerous game!

Most dangerous games I ever played in were either versus the Metropolitan Police, who were the most violent f******s I have come across, or a mixed league I played in where the 'ladies' seemed to get away with a lot more from the officials & boy didn't they use that to their advantage!

Conscious but in shock. Wow. So happy to hear she is alright. Watching it all I thought was Fabio Casartelli all over again. That descent is frankly dangerous. Boardman was clearly very angry about it.
Dont know about ok..concussion and three fractures in the back

Good to see a local boy Adam Peaty get our first good medial, phenomenal swimmer

This Olympics on the tv is keeping me awake at night. Started with the hockey, progressed onto the Murrays losing (helluva game), and ended up watching Peaty, and Jazz Carlin getting a silver.

Got to kip around 4...

Men's Beach Volley Ball - is there any more pointless sport?

I'm going with sailing as the worst spectator sport in the Olympics. Good luck working out who's winning.

You just check the score on the telly? Same as cricket but without the sleeping part.

Mens rugby 7s has been good very so far. GB 31 v (an incredibly physical) Kenya 7, but even better Japan just beat New Zealand 14 - 12

(though have to say that the upshort cam in the onfield half time team talk is really offputting :paperbag_125:)

Easy 6-3 6-1 win for Murray in the second round. Should really be nailed on for Gold with Djokovic gone.

Konta through as well, her progress has been superb over the last two years.

That was a belting match. Shame no ranking points for the Olympics as the girl she has beaten is above her in the rankings.

So - what's the TWF consensus - Rebecca Adlington and Mark Foster? Are they or aren't they?
