The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Went to a Yankees game 9 years ago, loved the whole experience and now way too invested in a team that is popular to hate on.

Other game was in Memphis for some minor league action. $20 a ticket inc an all you can eat hot dog/mac n cheese buffet. Glorious

So, to address one of my main beef’s with baseball: are they genuinely always trying to hit it out of the park and anything else is just a lucky mishit? Always looks that way as opposed to the infinite number of shots played in cricket (insert punchline of a massive list of ‘one shot’ batsmen in cricket here).

Bat on ball and bases the main targets for most.

Baseball batters can pick their shots according to the field and game situation just like cricketers do.

Jomboy Media's breakdowns on YouTube are a big recommendation to understand the game better.

This would usually appear on the sad thread but heading back to the UK tomorrow and it’s gonna be hotter than here.
Fuck me, it’s a tough life but someone’s got to do it I suppose, patio and a bottle of beer it is then at the weekend, home from home. 😉

Finally got a decent Internet connection at home.

"Fibre is coming" in north worcester since 2015, but still hasn't.

Was getting just 32mb with Vodafone with regular drop outs, had BT before that and that was worse.

Just had Airband installed this morning and getting 132mb, significantly better obviously and so far so good. Bit concerned that it might be susceptible to bad weather (it's via a dish, Microwave direct line of sight connection) But time will tell.

Oh, and it's 15 quid a month cheaper than Voda was!

Did you look at any Alt Nets? They don’t use the Openreach network as they build their own so means they are able to offer faster packages that others can’t.

I had Sky etc telling me I couldn’t get faster then 150Mbps, checked out Full Fibre website and now have 1Gb for £32 compared to the £33 I was paying Sky.

Not heard of them.

But there's no fibre infrastructure available where I live.

Virgin operates about half a mile away and on a newer estate not far away either - but not here.
