Coronavirus

Yeah took just under £3k off my limit last week.

Not a major problem as the card has a zero balance and its only used to pay for Hotels when we go on holiday (ahh remember those things) so not getting used anytime soon if they fancy taking more off me

Edit - Had the card around 8 years and never missed a single payment. Most time the balance was paid off within a month or 2 if it did have something on it.
Took the same from me just after Xmas. Apparently you can get it back if you ask for it or if you increase your balance.

Barclaycard seem to be worried that everyone is going to suddenly max their card on the same day, for some reason.

Barclaycard and Aqua have both done it to me. Checked my credit score and it's not driven by that. It's actually a good thing, we are likely to go into another recession and at least they are protecting themselves/us

Got no need for the limit I have, bar its there for emergencies so not asking for it back.

Some folk on Twitter saying their limits have been taken from over 13k to £250! That's extreme

surge testing of the South African Covid variant is being reintroduced in Smethwick and Cape Hill with effect from today
The numbers for the variant are pretty low at the moment. I'm going with the theory that they are using these as training episodes to ensure we are ready should we get in a mess like the Kent variant caused and also to keep us all in check as restrictions are lifted.

Scotland Care Home Covid Cases

January - Over 600 a week
Last Week - 1 case (ONE)

....

USA.
Out of 67m people injected just over 5000 then tested positive. Out of that 5000+, 74 sadly died.

74 out of 67m though is a remarkable figure and shows the strength of the vaccines.

Incredible statistics. Do they have knowledge of how many of those cases were before the 3 weeks of allowing immunity to be built up in their immune systems.

Who is offering Jags?

Presume he has a spare one

Jags is just what the Scots call jabs - confused the hell out of me first time my (Scottish) wife said it.
DiL is Scottish, jaggy is anything spikey, squinty is stuff out of square, they have 3 types of juice...fizzy juice (pop) diluting juice ( squash) fruit juice....its a different world, problem is, my lad and grandson have started using the same vernacular.

We have a sign at the entrance to the store clearly stating that mask wearing is mandatory. A "customer" was asked to wear one, went on a long rant including showing me her 'rubbish' mask that she will not wear, explaining that she has several excellent masks outside but she will not wear them either because Texas, Governor Abbott, science, corporations taking away our freedom, etc.

She ended with "you need to go back where you came from".

I just checked and I still have a £14.4k Barclaycard limit. Although there is absolutely no need for me to have that sort of limit. I put about £500 a month on it and always pay it off.

My Halifax credit card has my main balance on it, which I am slowly paying off.

You will get a letter if they are doing it
