Summer 2021 transfer window

Not sure I'm as keen to offload Traore as everyone else is. Obviously the current contract situation is an issue but Nuno clearly rates him as he calls him a "special player" (no kidding) at almost every opportunity. He'll always be a luxury in the team but I think to some extent his team mates also don't get the best out of him (i.e. they don't release the ball quickly enough) and he has felt Raul's absence more than most.

We have nowhere near enough evidence that Otasowie can do the job on a regular basis. He has started 2 games.
We dont correct, however he did that job quite well last night. I dont think we need to buy someone to do that job.

I would like to see Saiss, Dendonker and Boly upgraded, I dont think Dendonker is a ball carrying player

He played on the right of a five man midfield (more or less) last night?

And his only other start was as a false 9 vs Burnley which was a disaster, but not his fault.

There was a point last season where Traore started to look like more of a team player, he setup goals for Jota & Raul. To me, it looks like he's regressed back to drive towards goal and shoot whenever you can. Whether that's what Nuno is asking him to do or whether that's how he's decided to play I don't know.

He's a better player when he gets his head up

Were you on the same crack pipe as Cyber?

OO played right wing not central midfield.

I don't mind Adama shooting so much, it used to boil my piss when he'd cut in from the right and never even bother having a go, he'd just lose the ball. At least the goal vs Palace in the cup gave him the impetus to change that.

But his shooting in general is terrible and needs serious work. 6 goals in 136 PL games I think it is now. Atrocious.

The frustrating thing last night was he played most of the game on the left and his job there is to drive inside and create problems from central areas. Think the goal vs Leeds. Don't remember him doing it once.

My feeling with him is that we've already seen his best, there are elements of the game that he hasn't learned and I don't see him ever doing it. Ultimately he's had five Premier League seasons at three different clubs. Four of them have been varying degrees of shite.

If it wasn't Nuno asking him to do it I assume he'd have been dropped by now, but I also doubt it's Nuno telling him to be a selfish so-so either.

Totally agree certainly with the latter part. There was an incident in the 2nd half where Vitinha was slow to release and when he did finally release AT had slipped offside, Goodman was quick to criticise AT, but it was clearly Vitinha's fault, (it was also unusual to see AT try and receive the ball whilst running!)

Which is fine if it's an isolated incident, but Adama frequently stands or runs offside for no reason like a Mike Small Lite. The game exists in his own head and his own head alone.

I don't think it's important what he did at Boro or Villa to be honest.

My only thought is that if we are going to have Traore in the team, then the player the other side has to be consistent to counter-balance his inconsistencies. Podence definitely isn't consistent and I'm not 100% sure Neto is at that level yet either, but that's mostly down to age.

I don't recall another occasion where he was caught offside last night? He was poor last night, should have given RAN the ball a number of times, made poor decisions, and those are things he does generally. But being caught offside is a new one on me, as he normally receives the ball really deep.

Oh goodie another Adama moan-fest discussion.

A lot of Adama's problem at the minute is he tries to win it all on his own, a bit like Neto did. But there was a stage where they'd pass to a team mate who would then lose it, so I don't really blame them...

He's not even close to being our biggest issue, I'd rather not talk about him, I don't bring him up very often.

You're kidding though if you reckon he played well in 2018/19 or 2020/21 because he didn't. That's a statement of fact, fella.

Adama at wolves in the PL

97 shots
6 goals
16 shots per goal

Neto

78 shots
8 goals
10 shots per goal

Podence

42 shots
4 goals
11 shots per goal

Apologies I did not know where you play you first full 90 minutes thats where you will spend the reest of your career

Yes, but how can you say "he did that job quite well last night" when that wasn't his job?

He didn't play CM, never has started a game there for us.
