The F1 Thread

yeah I had a lot of fun with it until hitting the winning plateau; "got" the game and the AI couldn't offer any further resistance. After winning a 7th year in a row with Verstappen/Leclerc finishing each race at least a minute ahead I decided it was time to uninstall.

Who did you manage? I've only played it with Toro Rosso (or Scuderi Rossini as they are in the game) and managed to build them up to compete after a few years and it was always competitive. First ever race win was off the back of a daring wet weather strategy with my dire reserve driver as my No.2 was out with a neck strain.

Love how out of nowhere your drivers just decide to retire.

Also known as the Rosberg glitch

Oh a whole new level than that! Mid-season strop and gone as they want to pursue a career in fashion the highlight when 3rd in the Championship.

I opted to bring some glory to 'murica and went for Haas, which offered plenty of room to build to success (versus running merc/rb/ferrari). I used the 2020 Fire Mod, never actually played the base game so not sure how it differs. Once I got out front with the best engine it was easy to maintain dominance year after year, even with heavy performance downgrades over the offseason.

I found the vanilla version of the game much harder than modded ones, it’s a much slower progression to the top and finances are a lot tighter I found. Great game though, wish there was a proper sequel but they’ve focussed on mobile versions since which is a shame.

Lance Stroll out with unspecified illness. Hulk is back as a super sub. I always think the shorter Nurburgring is dull but to see these cars on it in practice, they are going to destroy previous lap record times.

What's the betting it's announced as a positive after the race?

Perez to Williams being rumoured with George Russell losing his seat

Sounds like there could almost be a complete upheaval at the back of the grid.

Merc should bin the 1 year they gave Bottas and get George in that seat. Although Lewis still hasn't signed up for next year himself yet

Yep. Russell would never have been dumped under the old Williams ownership but it looks like the new owner is chasing the sponsorship brought by Perez.
Russell would be great in the Merc

and Magnussen

Amazed Grosjean lasted so long

Mazepin and Mick the replacements by the sounds of it. Brave call.

Also seems that Alfa will remain unchanged as Kimi has taken up the option on his side for 2021 and Ferrari want Gio there for another season.

Tsunoda appears to be nailed on to replace Kvyat. Helmut wants Albon out of Red Bull, but there may not be a drop back to Toro Rosso, unless Gasly goes to Renault who aren't set on Ocon.

Chaos!

Just watching some of FP2 and I love the undulations and elevation changes on Portimao. Full throttle when you're just pointing at Blue sky in a few of the corners must be proper weird for the drivers.
