The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I'm trying to work out which is weirder, that a team like Dortmund are after him, or the €20M fee rumoured.
The fee makes sense to me - for a club of the profile of Dortmund, buying a young up-and-coming striker in 2025, €20 million is basically table stakes.

I've not seen Fabio play for quite some time, but in the abstract, with the numbers he put up last season, I can see why they might take a punt on him.

Any tall black central midfielder was 'the new Vieira' for about 15 years
Don’t make me think about Alex Song, the absolutely legendary cunt he was. I’ve already cried once today; you’re not getting me a second time!

That's OK. If he prefers Roma he has that choice. But he can then make up the difference between what Dortmund have offered and what Roma have. Player power = you have a contract and if you want to move, then it's on our terms. You've been a prick, we put up with this for long enough and now it's our turn to do business on our terms. You want the move, you pay for it.

Moving to Roma because of the manager is fucking hilarious. Guaranteed to be sacked before Christmas.

Saw this on the mix , doesn't look good in this format , we can only hope....

So this is where we are with 11 days until Man City. Happy or not?

IN
Fer Lopez
Jhon Arias
David Moller Wolfe

OUT
Cunha
Ait Nouri
Guedes
Semedo
Dawson
Sarabia
Chiquinho
Meupiyou
Hodge
Campbell
Doyle (loan)
Traore (loan)
Djiga (loan)

Forbs has also left but he wasnt our player anyway.

Out of that list though, 4 were key players ,(well 3.5)
Guedes was in and out
Dawson binned early doors by Vitor
Every player from Chiquino down their absence won't really be noticed, especially as a couple were out on loan last season

Happy? Not really as a RWB would have been nice to have and there are still holes to fill but that list of outgoings is not as drastic as it looks as 7 or 8 of them would not be used by Vitor anyway.

Not a clue if Arias, Wolfe and Lopez will offer similar to those they have replaced. Arias probably the most exciting one which is handy as he has replaced Cunha.

Cunha - Arias
Ait Nouri - Wolfe
Guedes - One of those training cones
Semedo - Still vacant.
Dawson - Doc in his spot
Sarabia - Lopez
Chiquinho - Not used by us
Meupiyou - Not used by us
Hodge - Not used by us
Campbell - Not used by us
Doyle (loan) - Needs a replacement but not a player Vitor could use.
Traore (loan) - as above maybe but probably not in regards to replacing him
Djiga (loan) - Vitor wants an LCB but the player hardly used anyway

Based on players meaningfully used last season, we needed six players to stand still really.

The squad wasn't great to start with, now it's at least as weak, and the first XI has a gaping hole at RWB.

No CMs beyond the starters, still poor bench options at CB, WBs not the catastrophe they were before Wolfe but still weak, forward options off the bench still poor. GK still accident waiting to happen if Sa doesn't play, but we don't have time or resources to even worry about that now.

Essentially, as someone said the other day, all the new signings have to work. Also, VP has no way to affect a game from the bench, or mitigate against tiredness, loss of form or injury.

Considering last season and what we lost in the summer, bit of a shitshow really

--------------------Sa-------

----------Doc Agba Toti

Hoever Gomes Andre Wolfe

---------Arias JSL Lopez

Bench: Bentley, Mosquera, S Bueno, H Bueno, R Gomes, Munetsi, Bellegarde, Hwang, Mane?

Squad: Johnstone, P Lima, Chirewa, Sasa

This is what we've got basically?
