January 2022 Transfer Thread

As for Chiquinho himself, based on those highlights he looks like the final form of Gervinho.

Save whatever money we'd got ear marked for a CB and spend it on a CM.
100% agree.

Saiss will only miss one, potentially two more league games. You’ve then got him, Coady, Kilman - now Gomes - and Donk/Marcal in case of emergencies. I guess we could even recall Sanderson if need be (assuming he is sent back on loan this window, which I think he will). Don’t get me wrong, if a top centre back came available at the right price, I wouldn’t complain at a signing there - but as today demonstrated, we’re short in the middle of midfield (we all know this) and we don’t want Donk filling in there for anything more than a game or two.

Can't recall during windows.
I am now of the view as others have said that Sanderson and Giles are only here as 'break glass in case of emergency' options. Can't see either playing if we don't have to

I think this too. If they want both playing for better teams than Cardiff and Blues we can't play them as they're only allowed to play for 2 clubs in a season so I'd be surprised if we saw them unless absolutely necessary.

The Athletic reporting Chiquinho a done deal for 3 million plus add ons.

4 year deal.

I watched his video. Looks similar to Trincao's style of dribbling but with a bit more strength. Wouldn't surprise me if they test Chiquinho out and ship Trincao back if he can have a similar impact.

Zero? 😬

Stylistically the video reminded me a bit of Bolasie, bit gangly which makes him look a bit clumsy at times but then he gets into his stride and he's away.

On the basis a player from the Championship with 3 goals and 3 assists this season would probably cost treble the amount it looks a good deal. Gives us cover if Traore goes, which I think he will, and frees up nearly all the money from said sale to spend where we need it more.
