Summer 2021 transfer window

My immediate thought was Arsenal, other than Fabio, who have we overpaid for? But Arsenal overspent on White, Pepe and Ramsdale surely?
you can make that list as long as the fucking bible EP(I meant Arsenal overspending btw on all players, was unclear my post)

:ROFLMAO:

They're not just both Welsh are they for god sake, he is a coach for Moore's National team and they just had an international tournament!

You're having a nightmare here.
Quite a nice mirror to your original baseless comment then.

If you want a more accurate parable then I have some former colleagues now working at the same company as me again, would you assume I'm responsible for them joining this company?

£35m is fuck all for a player of his calibre. That's an absolute scandal. Fucking outrageous
If he wasn’t on the radar before of other prem clubs before, he is now. We should have struck a deal there, cuz he’ll end up a +£50m CH in next 2 years
He’ll end up at Leicester or Liverpool 😐

Are you really still doubling down on this? I can only assume that you didn't realise Roberts was Wales coach as well as ours, OR you're a moron, and i know you're not the latter.

Oh and i've been asked for my opinion of people that i worked with before, i've recommended people too, that's normal, and it'd be odd if i wasn't.

Roberts is a native English speaker, might just be easier & quicker to communicate with the players than the other coaching staff.

Sounds similar to Dias? We didn't pay the big bucks, now he is one of the highest valued CBs in the world.

There's a thing called coincidence in the world, there doesn't always have to be a causal link. I don't get why you had to jump to that conclusion so quickly, and then slate the club for following the goalkeeping coaches recommendation for a transfer target, when that concept is purely in your head.

Yet apparently in your career it's perfectly normal for someone to be recommended by a peer.

My complaint has never been whether or not you could join dots between Moore and Roberts, football is a pretty incestuous game so it's not hard to do in a lot it cases. It was more your determination to join those dots with a massive great sharpie and then slate the club for the picture you'd drawn.

The release clause for Dias was £57m and from what got out into the public domain Benfica wouldn't take less. Appreciate he's gone to show he was worth it, but that was too steep a fee for us to pay for any player really.

Most of our players are Portuguese, so I doubt it.

4 in the first 11 wasn’t there on Sunday?
Ok, there were 2 x native English speakers in our starting 11 on Sunday - which is what your original point was. So it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, sorry.

In other news, Spiers has tweeted that talks with Adama to sign a new contract are “progressing nicely”.

It is almost inconceivable that even if Roberts didn’t suggest Moore as an option that he didn’t pass opinion on the idea. To get to the point of bidding upwards of £8m it would appear Robert’s thought it a good idea as surely Lage accepts his judgement on more than just goalkeepers.

This is the best written piece on the window I've seen. Doesn't go both boots in but lays out why the squad is short and the inadequacies in fixing that.

Also buried in there is the info that the club admitted that European FFP had nothing to do with the strategy as the period involved had past...who'd that thought that?

Also puts the correct balance on our 0-1 hammerings

That FFP line has made me so happy. I've arguing with bellends all fucking summer about it
There's an element of the fanbase and I assume all fanbases that will believe anything to come out of their club and to be fair to Fosun had a lot of goodwill in the bank. There's plenty on here who bought it.

So the question is did Jeff openly lie during his honesty, trust me, we know what we are doing session, or is he so incompetent he thought it was true?

Neither are a good look, I'm in the first camp, but shows a total lack of respect and arrogance that he didn't think that would be seen for what it was. I presume he knew that, but is there to enact what Fosun want. A modern day Moxey if you will

I admit to taking Jeff's words at face value regarding FFP and it wasn't until the scrutiny on here really showed FFP was no longer an issue that I realised Jeffs words didn't correlate.

I don't quite know where I stand on this now, at best it feels disingenuous and at worst it feels like an outright lie. Neither are good.

Making mistakes and (hopefully) learning from them I can accept, being 'honest' in front of a camera and lying does not sit well at all.

I'm just going to hope Jeff learns from this.
