The CHRISTMAS Thread

Half a day meetings aren't uncommon for us.

Design team meetings on live projects will easily run that long, will be some that dip in and out through that period but be a decent sized group involved throughout. Similar when we have settlement meetings on tenders, previously that occasionally ran into whole day affairs but we've start to split them down into sections, still can easily fill half a day with some of the broken down meetings on a complex project though.
When we were summoned to the big annual management meetings in Germany that was a two day affair ( remember last time and I was stuck at Tegel airport for 6 hours)
Was never an issue as there was 40 odd representatives from Europe alone and I'd always worked on the principle of 'always have the answer before the question is asked' until I was singled out to stand up and give my thoughts on what would happen with Brexit, God I chatted some bollox there without ever answering the question.

I get drinking at 7:30am on Christmas Day along with 4 others and it's my turn to get the booze in this year. Bought all the booze this afternoon and check my missed calls when I get home. 1 is gone into self isolation as his son has Covid and another has Covid and is already as rough as arseholes and likely due for a hospital stay.

So, I bought too much booze for 5 people and it's going for 3 people. Woohoo!

Anyway, moving away from he who doesn’t sweat, starting to get the food together for tomorrow. I have been talked into doing a turkey breast as well as the beef rib so that is prepped with lots of streaky bacon and sage leaves. Going to rub the beef in some mustard later ready for the oven in the morning.

Got some gorgeous scallops and Argentinian red prawns for the starter. Going to be in a garlic butter with stock white wine lemon juice chilli and basil.

Lots of snacks bites tonight. Cold meats platter including my absolute favourite prosciutto di Parma, some nice little Indian bites and toast with coarse Ardennes pate. That’s Christmas Eve munchies for me. Doesn’t need a lot as I am going to eat a ridiculous amount tomorrow.

I'm not that organised. Tonight is basically just sitting in front of the telly in my pants swigging Kahlua from the bottle.

Yes everyone be merry and safe
Merry Christmas

For anyone that doesn't like to mingle with the family on Christmas Day, may this be the best Christmas ever!

For the rest of you, try and enjoy the day off.

Merry Christmas all! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

The speed the kids were opening presents this morning, they must have thought there was a time limit and anything not opened would be lost.

Merry Christmas. So nice to have a lie in without kids demanding presents at stupid o clock. Even the dog is patiently waiting to see if Santa Paws has been.

Haha, Daughter and Granddaughter sent us a happy Christmas video at 6.30, then a pic of the carnage at their house at 8.30.
Happy Christmas everyone
