The Film Thread

Enjoyed Doctor Sleep. I don’t think I’d have appreciated it anywhere near as much if I hadn’t seen The Shining first, the references back were what elevated it from a decent film to a really good film for me.

Really dark (even for a horror) and Rebecca Ferguson is a fantastic villain.

Yes, Doctor Sleep was a very good sequel with sly and subtle references to Kubrick’s horror masterpiece.

Christ, it’s actually over a year ago since I saw it on its theatrical release (so much has happened in the last the year).

For me, The Shining is in my top 10 favourite films plus I rate Stanley Kubrick as the best filmmaker we’ve ever had in cinema.

Tonight, I’ve just come back with my wife from watching Tenet (first film we’ve been to the cinemas this year because of lockdown). WTF was that all about ! ! !

Just resign yourself to having to watch it again at some point, like most other people. A few weeks after I watched it I read the Wiki on it and on more than one occasion, I thought "where the fuck did that happen?".

Noisy bollocks is what Tenet is.

Watched a film called Underwater the weekend. In summary, don’t bother.

A damp squib. Storyline was really wet as well.
