EFL fixtures out this morning and Derby and Wycombe are getting 2 sets each.

Still a chance Derby could be relegated so the EFL are producing Championship and L1 fixtures for them and if Derby are booted down, Wycombe will take their place. Derby have to provide their new accounts for the period they essentially lied about, so looking like if they failed FFP for last season the points punishment is added to that period rather than next season.

How do you plan for a season when you don't know what league you'll be in?

With difficulty. Sounds to me like the EFL think they have got Derby bang to rights if they are doing alternative fixtures. Fully expecting a demotion.

So read up on this. Derby have been fined £100k for an element in their accounting about how player amortisation is dealt with. They now have to re submit three years of accounts with the player amortisation correctly dealt with which will cover the period of the dodgy Pride Park deal that was only there to prevent an FFP breach.

I suspect that with amortisation dealt with correctly those accounts are going to show a significant FFP breach and Derby won’t be allowed to change anything other than the issue they have been ordered to change in the re stated accounts. Looks like they are fucked.

Such a shame

Cheers Pad interesting stuff.

Corking goal here at 3:15.

Crossbar, post, crossbar, crossbar. That's some hit!

It looks like this will now evolve into 2 seperate processes. The dual fixtures is because the £100k fine came from an independant commision and the EFL are going to appeal that because they want a points deduction. If that appeal is successful then presumably Derby will appeal that.

Then the prior year accounts will be reviewed and presumably they'll be done again for those. Doesn't look like that element is going to impact on last seasons league though.

My guess is the £100k stands, they stay in the Championship and at some point next season will get hit with a heavy points deduction

Not sure how I feel about that, I should imagine it will make the first legs ultra boring as the lack of incentive to score for the away team takes effect.

Also removes the idea of 0-0 at home being a good result.
Also take the fact you can lose game, draw the tie but progress all in in an instant.

I can't say I watch enough play off games to know the difference.

I know there's always a fair bit of excitement around away goals etc. Could see more ties going to pens, but I'm not paid to make these decisions etc, etc

Some good news for Derby though. Some extra TV money surely coming after Derby are drawn to play Salford in the League Cup 1st Round. So Rooney v G-Nev will have Sky going nuts

A senior executive at West Bromwich Albion attempted to negotiate a £25 million transfer deal that would have broken Fifa regulations, avoided tax in China and possibly the UK, and enabled the English club’s Chinese majority shareholder and owner to keep some of the proceeds of the sale.

Luke Dowling, who until two weeks ago was West Brom’s technical and sporting director, initiated discussions with an agent with links to a club in China about the possible sale of the Brazilian attacking midfielder Matheus Pereira.

Can’t read the full article, looks like the owners breached some rules on the Perreira deal. Not first time they cocked up either Robert Snodgrass deal had contractual breaches in it to.

I have read it. It was a proposed deal to sell Perreira in the last January window as the Count wanted to bin him off to raise funds. That deal never happened but it does look like a conspiracy to commit tax fraud in China. Also there is reference to a previous deal being carried in that fashion.
