I’m not even sure he’s that much more mobile or athletic. Let’s not pretend he’s the next kante and Neves is Milijas. The difference is minimal.

Probably, for a DM I'd rather have good tackling and long passing anyway, which Neves is superior imo.

Didn’t think I’d have to add in my opinion to a post on a forum when everything someone types is literally that posters opinion but I’ll play. Someone is only worth what another person is prepared to pay.

I wouldn’t pay more than €20m for him as he’s no better than what we have. We paid £35m for Fabio Silva so that’s what he’s factually worth, you probably disagree.

Botman is glacial, he makes Roger Johnson look like Usain Bolt.

Current Boly can barely move and always had lapses in concentration in his locker. Coady had never been able to move and has struggled physically, aerially and being ran at. Kilman looks like he has all the bits and pieces but what’s his positional discipline like? We don’t really know. Gomes has the physical attributes but again what’s his positional discipline like and I’ve already seen him get his feet tangled or miss clearances multiple times in his limited appearances.

Seems highly unlikely a Ligue 1 winner who is only 22 and has been targeted for 2 years by various clubs is “no better”.

Having watched his YouTube clips I don’t think this is true. Makes up ground well due to his long limbs and uses the long limbs to good use sliding In. Similar to Dan Burn in that regard.

Not rapid but good positioning and reading of the game combined with his size mean he will be ok in that regard. If you coupled those attributes with pace then you have Van Dijk and he wouldn’t be going to Newcastle.

Agreed, as we all know Choupo Moting is an elite centre forward.

Don’t remember him being a key player for Lille in a title winning campaign being targeted for years for big fees? Might be wrong though. Don’t think anyone suggested Botman was elite either, as I said, wouldn’t be going to Newcastle if so.
