Wolves 0-3 Brighton: Verdict Thread

At least Bruno knows it was shit too.
Wolves manager Bruno Lage speaks to Match of the Day: "I think when you come from this game, what you did in 90 minutes, there isn't much to say. We didn't come to play. We came to watch Brighton play.

"The opportunity we still have in our hands to get in a better position.

"I changed to be more aggressive in front and in the end it really doesn't change too much. In 90 minutes the only thing I can say is we didn't play, we watched Brighton play. It was the worst performance since the first day.

"Brighton have a good style. In the first half it was a calm game. Second half they were much better. After we gave the spaces, they scored goals and dominated the game.

"When you come to this position, Brighton is doing a fantastic season, we have five points more than them, so what are we doing? That is one thing.

"Right now we have a big chance to arrive at a different position.

In fairness you can coach the players and set the team up, but how can you control how they play on the pitch. He has who he has to play, but without a goalscorer in the whole team how do you win games? Something has happened from the Leeds game. Confidence? Belief?

"We spend 80% of training working on the attack" - Bruno Lage

Well the performances warrant spending that much time trying to do something about it, doesn't mean they succeed in perfecting it though, evidently.

Then again it wouldn't be hard for any of them to look a force up against one another in training.

If Fosun are serious about us challenging the top teams then the have to invest heavily. At the moment it seems to me that they have lost interest, and if they have they should put the club up for sale.
Yep, I would say they're trying to sell us now.

Fosun, Shi, Sellars and Lage can all fuck off.

They're all toxic right now.

Interesting stat. Under Nuno we got 21 points first season and 17 points second season from going a goal down. This season we have got 3 (three) points from going a goal down.

I agree with the majority of that, but even with the players we have, we should be scoring far more, creating far more than we do. Teams with far lesser players manage it.

I agree we should be. But you can't coach how to score. I've seen the training videos where they run around putting the ball in the net. Maybe try it with players trying to block the ball for starters! Or maybe just get a real goalscorer.

It’s one thing coaching how to score, but again today we have no real chances apart from the Neto strike and boly header.

We dilly dally on the ball in wide areas. How can a forward time/commit to a run if they have to stop and check all the time. 1 thing being levied at silva for example is he never looks like scoring. I don’t really recall him having a chance in the past 3 games.

That to me sounds like he's run out of ideas....bye, bye Bruno

We start so slowly and that has to come from Lage. It’s one thing being cautious at Anfield but in our last three games we’ve handed the initiative to the opposition and never got it back.
