The R.I.P. Thread

To be honest, I like some reggae music, a lot of it before my time and I had never heard of him. Zero disrespect to what he achieved and the influence he clearly had in the music world just not someone I was aware of.

Heard of the folk Johnny mentions as generally taught in school or in the case of Elvis, he was a global star and you would have to live in a cave not to know about him.

Beastie Boys lyrics is the only place I'd heard of him.

He's also worked with the beastie boys, assuming you've heard of them? Or is hip hop/rap before your time, or of no interest to you either? I mean quite scary people doing what could be deemed shouting a lot, or talking in rhymes quickly isn't for everyone.
I'm aware of the Beastie Boys but I doubt I'd recognise any of the permanent members by name let alone some bloke who's worked with them a bit.

Not sure why people get so precious about this sort of thing, not everyone has the same interests, so legend or nobody is purely in the eye of the beholder.

Sure is, hence Keef’s post calling him a legend. Will need to look back through the thread to see who suggested he wasn’t a legend 👍🏼

Sarah Harding from girls aloud aged 39 from breast cancer. ( that's the blond one who wasn't the Geordie, the Irish one, the northern one or the fit ginge one)
Obviously not many Girls Aloud fans on the forum...

Sickening news. 39 is absolutely no age what so ever. Christ, I'm only a couple of years off that myself! I read an article about a month ago where she said she wouldn't see another Christmas. Truly heartbreaking stuff and thoughts obviously go out to her friends and family.

I'm not a GA fan but this is terribly sad news and strikes a chord with me. It certainly makes me stop and think how lucky we have been.

Brilliant actor. Such a shame and really sad reading about his addictions.

Clive Sinclair. Had a couple of speccys, probably made me the geek I am.
