It’s also had a cascading effect of forcing another formation change (to 442) so we are all over the place when playing on the ball - probably need a screamer or set piece goal here
Suspect Lop knows that our chances of scoring from open play are so low that the priority needs to be the point (and maybe a set piece goal / neves long shot goal) rather than challenging for all three since Podence went down
Pretty conventional 4-3-3 at the moment with wingers cutting in and full backs overlapping. Traore and Hodge doing the leg work in midfield while Mout acts in a CDM role
Think that is a good call. Despite the (IMV weird) dislike of him here, he is clearly well regarded and a good presence in the set up.
He was also responsible for the defensive improvements on set pieces when Lage came in. Had a quick look and we are 9th this year for goals conceded from set...
Don’t think he was ever trusted by McCarthy and then we had Stale who never wanted him ahead of his trio of wingers that came in (sako, bokari and the polish one) so never really had much space to have highlights
Have a feeling we could do a panic appointment for someone like Dyche given these rejections. He clearly isn’t getting any jobs, “knows the league”, we don’t want any of Mendes’s clients and managers will be taking note of these rejections (so we probably need someone slightly desperate for a job)
Podence and Costa probably needed to be the first substitutions made, and Campbell ought to be ahead of Hodge/Guedes tbh. Cannot believe Podence lasted the full match after giving away the ball countless times.
The rest of the subs are understandable to a degree but once Adama came off it...
Does Hodge look as though he will match the rave reviews at the junior level professionally? Haven’t see the last two games but it feels a bit Anthony Forde / David Davis with him
I think their engine is generally ok but it’s more to do with their set ups and having to run with lower downforce to compensate their car flaws (re stability and porpoising).
I’d be amazed if they weren’t up there next year. They’ve indicated they know the issue and the fix but cannot...
When would have the last time been? Possibly as far back as Saunders?
Didn’t happen with Nuno (his worst form was absent fans), Lambert seemed to coast along without issue, Zenga? Although I think certain sections liked him for some weird reason, Jackett? Similar to Lambert and also had credit...
Liam Keen has just tweeted to say that contrary to rumours, Bruno has not been sacked and is taking training tomorrow.
I don’t follow rumour accounts but thought I was reasonably clued up but even I was not aware that rumours of a sacking were flying around to justify sending out that denial...
