Arsenal 1-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Agree, thought Marcal was exemplary which has caused some confliction as I'm a big fan of Jonny
yep Nuno could have a real (good) selection problem towards the end of the season

Jonny
Marçal
Ait-Nouri
Semedo
Hoever

That's a very good set of options for both full back/wing back sides, with Matheson coming through as well.

Going to be tough keeping them all happy.

Marcal's only really here for the season and Ait-Nouri is still a young man.

Hoever may well become a CB yet so can have positional flexibility.

I like our defensive options for a good couple of years with Lonwijk impressing in the age groups too.

I don’t think we’ve signed Ait Nouri to sit on the bench, I think he’ll get games - a bit of a horses for courses option for Nuno, depending on whether he wants a more attacking option or a safer option.

having said that, I really liked Marcal on Sunday, because for a safer option, he helped going forwards well.

I still rate Jonny as the best(if he rehab well), both offensively and defensively, but we have very good options now and man good for the future

I was impressed with Christian Marques when he played against Doncaster a couple of weeks ago.

I think RAN for 3ATB and Marcal for 4ATB. Jonny to complicate!

The bit he misses is that Coady did play CB for Liverpool youth teams in a 4 so it's not alien to him, he also played plenty in Cm and RB for them too.

As far as I know he didn't progress in midfield because he was considered too slow and at the back because he wasn't strong or good enough in the air.

I think his reading of the game is exceptional and has clearly got better under Nuno and something Liverpool could not have foreseen when they had to let him go at a young age. I hope his 1v1 work improves and I'm sure it will as that is the weak spot in his game and as we get better the defeenders that tend to be world class are those that read the game impeccably and can deal with 1v1 situations by not using out and out pace but nous. I'm sure Coady is on his way there now.

I think his reading of the game can cover the pace issue. Terry, McGrath, Adams etc weren't quick. I'd be worried about the physical battles without the extra man to help. Chelsea and Burnley would be the next 2 games coming up where he could be exposed

Does anyone know why Podence does the Albanian eagle celebration when he scores?
