I still think we can get high up the table with this squad of players and a competent manager.

Get shot of the stats wankers and bring in a good man with a plan and I think we'd do really well.

Agree. We should be capable of being this season's Newcastle.

I chose 14-17 and am sticking with that. Under the current manager this isn't going to be a pleasant season, and we are squandering the opportunity we have with this really strong group of players. But we do actually have a really good squad. I think we've got enough about us to stay up (just about) because of that.

I voted going down. If Lage stays then I will be right. If we go down with this squad then Lage will be one of the worst managers in our history.

But tha\t's nowhere near good enough is it?
No one knows how, but we managed to keep hold of Neves, but if we hang on, he'll be gone like shit off a shovel.
And a couple of others too!

He's surely gone any way. If a mircale happened and we finished in a CL spot he'd probably stay as he seems to love it here.

I think it would depend on the manager and Neves' options. He'd have gone this year if a CL team had come in. He will next as the price will be very affordable, we'd have to appoint a top class manager, Pochesque for that not to have a chance of not happening. We won't.

Wasn't there some snippet from an interview recently where he said he had a chance to leave this summer? Be interesting to know more of the ins/outs of that as there was precious little noise of him going anywhere in particular. Would imagine it was more the club saying they were open to it if someone came along and tempted him but then it doesn't seem like that happened.

I'm still not convinced he really fits anywhere at the top table either to be honest, if he's waiting for a CL big boy then I think he'll be waiting a while. If it were the summer of 2009 I could see Liverpool being desperate for him to replace Xabi Alonso but the double pivot isn't the go to midfield solution that it once was.

It's an ever changing scenario, but if I had to make a prediction right now, I think we'll go down with Lage in charge.

We have some excellent footballers in our squad, but we just don't score goals. And if you don't score goals, you cannot win games of football. Sorry to be Michael Owen levels of obvious.

Totally agree.

I wish to revise my prediction and say bottom and in administration.
